I had a great experience with presenting my PhD research about developing peptide-based CGRP antagonists for migraine treatment at this year’s Joseph Black conference at @EdinburghChem. I was delighted to receive the a prize for best oral presentation in Chemistry-Biology.
If you're in #Edinburgh this May, why not pop along to @pintofscience to learn about some of the ways current research is revolutionising healthcare? Join us on May 14th for a 🍺 and some 🧪, and find out how I'm trying to make peptide drugs more sustainably! #pint24#TechMeOut
#Zilucoplan is the 6th #FDA approved #peptide of 2023. This makes 119 peptides added to our peptide therapeutic and diagnostic database #PepTherDia. Zilucoplan is a complement inhibitor used to treat generalised #myasthenia#gravis. https://t.co/9W9YUYHz3v
I had a fantastic experience in giving an oral and poster presentation at #PPSG2023 about new #migraine treatments. Very honoured to win best poster! Well done to everyone giving talks and posters today. Now let’s hope #StormBabet calms down so I can get home… @RSC_PPSG
Next up we have Adam Schofield from @Dr_CR_Coxon lab at university of Edinburgh. His talk is on new CGRP antagonist peptides for migraine treatment @TheNeuroRF#PPSG2023
Applications are open for our EASTBIO PhD project: Peptide chemical tools to probe the role of the PrfA transcription factor in Listeria virulence at University of Edinburgh on https://t.co/G7fGsq0wvV #peptides @EurPepSoc @RSC_PPSG https://t.co/InnhsWpL6J
Last Friday I had a great time showing our work on the design and lead optimisation of #CGRP receptor antagonists for #Migraine and meeting many others doing PhDs in medicinal chemistry at the @CRiverLabs poster presentation in Cambridge. @EvaNotari@Dr_CR_Coxon
Check out Paolo’s 🔥Hot Paper on using polyfluorinated porphyrins as a scaffold for peptide stapling and multicyclisation via thiol-fluoride substitution. The porphyrin is fluorescent & allowed us to monitor cellular uptake in skin cells! Collab with @FiGiuntini and @KehindeRoss
