‘Nobel Prize winner Sinclair Lewis is well served by narrator Adam Sims, who makes the shallow, hypocritical, money-grubbing George Babbitt more and more sympathetic as he learns – and struggles against – the limitations of his own nature.’ @AudioFileMag on ‘Babbitt’ by Sinclair Lewis, read by Adam Sims. @SteveCavanagh_@carmelitestudio@headlinepg@mearns_tracy My pleasure. So much fun recording this one. The twists, turns and building it all brought daily gasps and ‘whaaaaaaat just happened?!’ from brilliant producer Lauren. As always, beautifully crafted and so much to work with on the page. Big thanks.
A fictional building in a fictional country filled with fictional characters eating fictional cheesecake #HotelLuckySeven. A pleasure recording the latest by #KotaroIsaka. Big thanks @HarvillSecker @RakkitProducti1 @Voice_Squad 🎙️ https://t.co/wpGeAZ38hn
@Mrssuziebear@SteveCavanagh_ The Audie Awards are all things audiobook. Narrators, authors, publishers are recognized, but the often not mentioned editors, proof listeners, pre and post production staff are also invaluable in making a compelling listen everything it becomes.
@Mrssuziebear@SteveCavanagh_ Good question. We switch as we go. I’ve read the book and made all kinds of decisions before sitting down for day one in front of the mic; accents, tone, pace. Then we record from first page to last, working with stellar producers in studio to catch mistakes and correct as we go.
