First proper update on this project in many months. The clothing is still just a single layer. Will add thickness and some better detailing when the shape is closer to looking final.
More to come soon hopefully…!

Some eye shape and lighting tests. Looking to go for a more cinematic feel for the final portrait. Thinking a night time feel with some red glows - kind of like the lighting in this post.

More work on the facial shapes to contribute to her final pose. Using a bit of lid tightener and some brow lowerer here. Will start working on the expression for the lower half of her face next.

First time testing with a TexturingXYZ VFace data set. This is a first pass on the current character portrait I’m working on. Am gonna bring this xyz map into zbrush next and try to push the hand sculpted detailing to match up nicely.

Some closeup maya renders of the lips. Lower lip shape still needs some tweaking. Also, skin shader needs some work as it’s a bit shiny and red at the mo.
Time to move onto another area of the face! Planning to do a pass on her expression next…

"Trying to sculpt details is a lot of fun, can get completely lost in it. Have stitched myself up, though, as I’ll have to spend this much time on all the other areas of the face now, aha."
