This is an incredibly smart decision. The Atlanta Falcons did this a few years ago and not only did it make fans happier and feel valued, revenue actually went up.
Cheaper concessions -- including beer! -- are coming to Kroger Field, Memorial Coliseum, Kentucky Proud Park, and Kentucky's on-campus venues as part of UK's new partnership with Compass Group. ๐ญ๐บ๐ฅจ

Hoping this is more of a Moreno-goes-to-the-NBA insurance policy rather than an added depth piece.
I donโt see the value of filling up all 15 roster spots with dudes who could potentially play.
NEW: Kentucky has contacted 21-year-old Russian big man Gleb Firsov.
Firsov has great size (6-10), is efficient around the rim, and has good rim protection instincts. Plays for Parma Perm in the VTB United League, the top league in Russia.

Players who opt out of events at the combine generally do so because they think participating will hurt their draft stock.
Not saying this means Moreno plans to stay in the draft, but this looks like he is erring on the side of improving his stock rather than getting feedback.
Kentucky center Malachi Moreno will not play in 5v5 scrimmages at the NBA Draft Combine this week, per league sources. Moreno has garnered intrigue from teams in the mid-late first round range.

College sports has changed. A lot. But schoolsโ org charts and responsibilities have been slow to change with it. Eventually they will, and coaches will soon be just coaches and not the basketball/football program kings they have been in the past. https://t.co/6CEYQzc0JV
Great post here from @AdamStrattonKSR
"Can we just let the man cook for a bit? Sure, the dish he eventually serves might end up being buttered spaghetti, but we donโt know that yet. It might end up being exquisite carbonara."

I don't mean to fan-splain, but maybe give Mark Pope some slack for not speaking publicly about roster construction while he's in the middle of roster construction:
