A plane that launches a drone that launches air-to-air weapons. It fulfills a need that's crying out for interrogation. It's the turducken of lethality.
@LightNGames1@volatrader @klsweetman @MaxCRoser@LightNGames1 I’m sorry, I don’t understand the analogy. Are you saying that you can’t compare any of these urban settings because each has their own unique challenge?
USAF Lt. Gen. Robert McMurry says last six weeks have "absolutely" changed DoD views on telework.
"I work four days a week out of my closet. If I can do it, at the executive level…. We’re starting to get over our own crusty old dude biases against telework.” #C4Conf
This and yesterday's story on leaked CICR report (mentioning possibility of war) could be expressions of genuine concern, or they might be signals intended to discourage the US and others from applying too much pressure to China.
@volatrader @klsweetman @MaxCRoser So are you saying that having 147m & having 25m total ppl in urban settings is the same challenge? & number of deaths (even corrected for total pop size) is an even comparison btw the two?
@gjluke@MaxCRoser@gjluke In % of population, yes. But total population (25m) is 300m less than the USA, so % don't really apply. I chose the absolute number of people living in urban settings bc @MaxCRoser original post was in absolute numbers (per 1m ppl).
@MaxCRoser@MaxCRoser How do you account for different urbanization between these states? Preventing airborne transmission is more difficult in urban environments than in rural ones. A country with high urbanization (USA) has different and more difficult challenge than one with low (Aus)
@WarintheFuture I’ve spent my weekend “reading” (audio book) Like War and knitting in my chair while drinking tea... am I in my 20’s or my 80’s? I’m not sure anymore 🤷🏽♀️
