@gnarcader I actually agree. I think a lot of the criticism comes from people expecting Chrono Trigger 2, when Chrono Cross was trying to tell its own story. Add in one of the greatest video game soundtracks ever, and I think it’s a game that’s become more appreciated over time.

@akshaynjp I don’t think it’s a case of practical effects being better than CGI. It’s about knowing when to use each.

The films that age the best usually combine both, using CGI to support the practical work rather than letting it do all the heavy lifting.

I think both options should exist. The industry has been moving towards digital for years now, so I don’t think this shift is particularly surprising, and eventually people will have to accept that’s where gaming is heading.

Even so, I hope physical editions remain an option for collectors and for people who simply enjoy owning the games they buy.

@TheCinesthetic Howard Shore. His score for The Lord of the Rings is one of the greatest achievements in film music. Every culture, location and character has its own identity, and it makes Middle-earth feel completely alive.
