So pleased to see the team behind the @CentreWessex@UHSFT Stroke SDEC getting recognition they deserve. Next steps - secure substantive funding, and spread to other Trusts!
Agreed. Did a visit earlier today. Amazing outcomes, preventing multiple admissions per day, better care and consequently great feedback from patients
🙏🙏🙏🙏

Great session about advanced practice roles in stroke. How do we make it easier to support our brilliant multi-professional to stay in stroke and develop their careers @NHSE_WTE@NHSGIRFT@TheStrokeAssoc#uksf24
@DrPaulSutcliffe @louise7889 @UKStrokeForum The data came from a slide presented by Prof Martin James. Adjusted for a range of variables, women who have had a stroke do not achieve the same outcomes as men.
Todays jaw to the floor moment @UKStrokeForum was learning that women consistently achieve poorer outcomes post stroke than men. I shouldn't have been surprised, but I was. This is clearly just one of many unacceptable inequities in stroke care. Work to do.
🎉 Milestone alert! Yesterday, our Stroke Team at @CentreWessex hit 250 mechanical thrombectomies this year — nearly a quarter of all we've done since 2015!
This revolutionary stroke treatment restores blood flow to the brain, improving outcomes for many patients. 🧠

Honestly, next time a clinician tells you that no further recovery is possible beyond a year or so after your #stroke, ask them to explain the science behind their view. Some discussion of the 'plateau' from 16:45 here https://t.co/J00ueiHnsA… @PTcoach@M_j_G13@KnowStroke_Pod
Brilliant to be back for day 5/6 of the @NHSGIRFT Stroke Leadership Academy @NHSEngland. Talking about managing and leading change, coaching and QI. Oh, and the sun ☀️ is shining ❤️#liftasyouclimb

A huge thank you @Deborah71247971, Dr John Paisey, and Tom Tavaner from @vimhealthcare for speaking and imparting your wisdom, lessons for work and life, and eyebrows.
We have been overwhelmed with positive feedback on all of your talks.
Onwards to the spring edition!
Wessex ISDN event- fab listening to @Deborah71247971 authentically sharing her lessons learnt from her leadership journey to date. A role model in compassionate leadership who cares about people and relationships (and Jurgen Klopp!)- thanks for sharing your story so openly Deb
Days 2 & 3 of my trip saw me riding from Dieppe to Paris. Today was 85 hilly miles bringing me to 200 in total over the first 3 days.
Thankfully tomorrow is a rest day!
Time to restock on snacks, wash my clothes and take in a bit of Paris!
#strokeawarenessmonth
@SarahwResearch The hardest thing is turning up, so they say, but I think it's getting used to the saddle!
Also.... This type of riding is mostly eating enough. Happy to offer tips if you decide to go for it 😁
I'm riding from home, in Southampton, to Geneva. Not sure why. I think it's just because I can, and for while I didn't think I'd ever ride a bike again.
Today was 79 miles from Southampton to Newhaven. It rained. It was sunny. I had an ice cream in Brighton. Lovely.
