@mattlanza Give the pizza at Magdalena's in Houston a try. It's a tad on the more formal side to be a regular spot for me, but the pizza's great. Coastline is my go-to! https://t.co/LbAbaD9Egj
@mandogkorn@klarnic_debt Houston punches way above its weight in museums, theater, music, FOOD (fine dining as well as day-to-day), sports, counter-culture, research, education; all despite not looking like "a real city"
The scooter ban is stupid. There, we said it.
The Mayor wants you to believe scooters are "one of the city's No. 1 security risks".
It's a lie.
On 11/28 a child on his bike was killed by a driver, one of hundreds who will die in car crashes this year in Houston.
We're excited to announce that our special guests at @TheWarOnCars event on December 10 will be Senator Molly Cook and Houston Chronicle Opinion Editor Evan Mintz.

Well well well, after riding my scooter to Gristworkz and enjoying a delicious steak dinner, it's after 8:00 and I would be breaking the law to get home, under the new ordinance. Sad. @houmayor@HoustonTX@BikeHouston@houstonpolice@AbbieKamin
@BayouBikeyBoi@houmayor@MarioforHouston@HoustonTX Can I claim my house as a "place of employment" if I sometimes work from home? Can I claim Saint Arnold Brewery is a "place of employment" if I answer work emails while eating a pretzel?
These amendments make it illegal for me to ride my personal scooter from my home to my neighborhood grocery store or restaurant after 8 pm. This is poorly thought out and punishes Houstonians like myself who are trying to reduce car traffic. @houmayor@MarioforHouston@HoustonTX
This morning, Houston City Council will consider proposed amendments to Chapter 45 of the Code of Ordinances, relating to micro mobility devices (e-scooters) and off-highway vehicles (ATVs).
The proposal establishes a citywide curfew from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. to reduce safety hazards, prevent public nuisances, and align with the Cityβs long-term vision for a safer and more pedestrian-friendly community.

@BayouBikeyBoi@houmayor@MarioforHouston@HoustonTX Good point! And that's what I mean by poorly thought out. They present this as only affecting the "bad scooters" in downtown, but the letter of the law has much broader implications. Car-brained way of thinking.
