When you're developing subdivisions like this one, there are some major costs/work that doesn't get much attention on RE Twitter so I'm sharing here ⬇️
Buying a book should be a bundle. For one price, you get the physical copy, audiobook, notes, commentary from famous readers, links to further reading, a lecture series, and interviews with the author.
Heading to Australia for the next month.
My Dad grew up in Melbourne and my grandparents still live down there.
Haven’t seen them in 3 years so could not be more excited 😃
If y’all have any recommendations on things to do or cool ways to remember this trip would love to hear!
I mentioned the other day how my grandpa is the worlds greatest “doer.”
This is the kind of stuff I’m talking about.
He’s an Aussie 🇦🇺 and he’s always in creation mode.
An ongoing thread of my grandpa’s (81) creations through the years.
Created in his woodshop.
@Camp4@girdley My grandfather in Australia knew he wanted to be a pharmacist from age 12….yeah 12 years old. Legend.
He retired in his mid 60s from his practice in Melbourne and has traveled the world ever since.
He’s done well for himself. Super hard worker and a local legend.
Something really bugs me about hearing older professionals tell me they wish they were my age.
Especially if I look up to them as mentors.
Great to look back on your youth fondly, but you can easily tell between those who are doing that vs those who yearn for the “glory days.”
@stillwell Book has been excellent so far. Author was a ski bum for a long time and is really is able to dive into the psyche of the coveted “ski bum.”
Like any “risky” thing, the artists/passionate are the ones to do it first and the opportunists come later
@stillwell I think about that a lot, too.
Makes me think that back then, growth came organically from the attraction of the sport itself and/or the scenery. Only exacerbated by social media, etc
In our info-abundant world today, I feel like growth will be less organic
@realEstateTrent Love the thought and detail, as always!
There’s a good lesson here in knowing your market better than anyone. It allows you to confidently price/strategize/negotiate with all stakeholders.
NEVER a waste of time to ask/find out what someone pays in rent.
@realEstateTrent The best brokers are the ones who don’t trash their competition, but carry themselves as though they’re not concerned with their competition.
@fortworthchris Office buildings became the biggest RE institution in the world because businesses leasing office space became more profitable than ever.
More profit, more employees, more space.
Could easily see this same sort of scenario in the industrial space.
