David Stearns deserves plenty of blame for the moves/non-moves he made last offseason, which have Mets steamrolling toward selling at deadline
But including Freddy Peralta trade in that criticism in effort to further your point is absurd

Steve Cohen on what’s gone wrong for the Mets:
“If you asked me at the beginning of the season, I never would’ve expected this. It’s horrendous.”

I understand this thinking, but in order to avoid another disastrous season Stearns needs a GM and/or a manager who can push back from time to time on his decisions.
David Stearns' job is safe, as he is going to "live out" the reminder of his five-year contract as president of baseball operations with the Mets, says Steve Cohen on The Show with Joel Sherman and Jon Heyman
Stearns is in the middle of his third season with the organization
Cohen: “David is reflective and adaptable. We’ll figure out what changes need to be made, but it won’t be David.”
Everyone dunking on NPR because they published fake news on accident but I think it’s a welcome break from their usual practice of publishing it on purpose.
Mets: Everyone is playing their own game on their own. They need to be together to be successful. They can all give a little. The talent needs to show up and they need to be accountable.
Of course when the casino and Metropolitan Park opens, attendance will go up no matter what. You'd have to believe, so will prices. For the die hards to stick around (and the fan base to really grow), you'll always need a winning product. The tourist appeal will wear off.
On its face, this is the worst Mets season in eight years
But when you combine the expectations with the fact that the season is basically over before the calendar flips to July, it’s fair to say this is their most disappointing season since 1992
Honestly, this is one of the funniest Mets teams I’ve ever watched. They’re so bad that it reminds me of the Three Stooges almost every time they play.
