Hitting your kids is in the same category as circumcision, iPads, strict adherence to the CDC vaccine schedule---it is for Ns, goyim, and walmart pajama people. It lowers IQ (Straus, 1995), increases aggression (Gershoff, 2016), is less effective than a timeout, and requires escalation to keep working. The replies to articles like this are filled up with the Dumbest People Who Ever Existed saying "it worked for me" and then genuinely malicious and hateful morons dropping reaction gifs of like daffy duck swinging a belt
"EVERY STATE IN AMERICA ALLOWS YOU TO PHYSICALLY CORRECT YOUR CHILD. It's legal. It's fun. Bring it on." -- profile says: Cat Sanctuary Dad. Unyielding steel. Workouts, keto, cat chaos, anime rants. Godzilla, Gundam, Mazinger, Ultraman, classical art, manga.
If you hit your kids, you will create permanent emotional distance with the only person/people you could ever be that close to, not to mention sending them down the road of being as much of a lost fuckup loser as you are who will hit their own kids, or wont, but only after spending a decade figuring out why they reflexively apologize all the time.
More progress. The crater has been thumped deeper and the 10 pound sledge has forced me to move up to the 20. And hey most importantly my muscles grow. It really is such an engaging kind of exercise to hit things with weapons.
Swung the 30 pound sledge a few times. Too heavy for now but its something to work towards. For now just good research for a barbarian character I'm working on
Macing a big stump is a really great forearm workout. There's lots of stabilizer muscles in the hand too that get sore from the recoil. Super interesting. I saw a blacksmithing video talking about it and now I get what he meant.

@thelillygaddis I think more needs to be done on the right to highlight artists, like contests or interviews or something by someone with an audience
If forged in fire made people want to be master blacksmiths then some kind of attention in media will make people want to master their crafts.
If I ever have to write a character fighting an ent I've done my research. I keep discovering little things about the sound and hardness of different parts of the wood.
For instance when you chop wet wood real hard the water escapes as foam around the impact.

I was watching someone play Crimson Desert and this guy was being tortured and had his hand cut off. He then uses this to escape off screen.
So this guy beat up his captors with his newly freed stump and then untied his other hand with that stump? How is this not a meme?
My grandma passed this year and we were going through her jewelry and I remembered this watch. I was little and just learning to read the clock so I wanted to read the time on her watch.
Difficulty: Nightmare
I thought the older you get, the better you must get at reading clocks
@Christi_MK96@trishacuffari yeah it's just for me. I really appreciated the fanart and a simple post didn't seem like enough to commemorate it all.
I totally forgot I was wearing it the whole time at that con or I would have pointed to my shirt and been like "and hey check it out!". next time though.
@pureMetatron There are "castles" in the US you can stay at or tour. They're mansions that were usually liquidated in the great depression that are used as venue for weddings and bed and breakfasts. Could try that?
