Day 1: What is Anaesthesia?
Most people think anaesthesia = "being put to sleep."
It's not sleep. When you sleep, your brain is still active. You can feel pain. You can be woken up.
Anaesthesia is different.
It's a controlled, reversible state where your brain is deliberately protected from pain, awareness, and memory, while surgery happens.
Three things every anaesthetic must achieve:
✅ No pain
✅ No awareness
✅ No movement
How we get there depends on the type of anaesthesia, and it would interest you to know that there's more than one kind.
Tomorrow we answer: Who gives Anaesthesia?.

We, the 44 affected MBBS graduates of the College of Health Sciences, University of Ilorin, note the school’s press release. However, for over 6 months we have only received repeated assurances — first a 4–6 week promise, then a January date — none fulfilled.
I followed @Sterling_Bankng to make a complaint and almost immediately got followed by @Help_TeamCenter , an account with just 9 followers that looks very sus. I can’t help but wonder how the account even knew I had just followed Sterling. This is exactly how people get scammed.
Using this before seeing a Doctor is wrong. See a Doctor and get a proper diagnosis and prescription. Misuse of antibiotics can cause antimicrobial resistance. Trust me, you don’t want that.
Q: Are you saying you and your colleagues at NARD are going ahead on Monday with the nationwide strike?
- Dr. Mohammed Suleiman had this to say:
#PoliticsToday
As big as the World, there are not so many people who genuinely love you. When you find the people who do, make sure you keep them close and shower them with all the love in your heart.
Everyone/thing else doesn't matter.
Grateful beyond words to God, whose goodness and grace have guided us every step of the way. He has done marvellously well! Congratulations, my beloved son this is just the dawn of a beautiful and fulfilling journey ahead.
Dr Emmanuel Oluwawemimo Adama MBB, proud of you son 💙
