@RRollplaying That was my knowledge cleric until he accidentally gained levels of corruption. His core personality really is just nice to just about everyone and puts up with just about everything. The new personality he developed because of corruption? Not so much.
@TaighArtemis Most recently? Playing an Exandria game and my cleric just ended up with 2 levels of corruption while traveling to the Barbed Fields. He now has a split personality, and the new personality has a short fuse.
@RobertGReeve My husband played a wild magic sorc one time who got the brilliant idea to cast a fireball in the room he was in because, "I can take it!" Triggered an ice storm centered on himself with wild magic. Walked out with maybe 2 HP. Destroyed the 3 nothics in the room tho.
@foreveaendeavor So sorry for your loss... This is normal, and very common. I very suddenly lost a kitty I adored when I was maybe 10. I mourned for that cat, and 20 years later, I sometimes still cry. In time, you learn how to continue on, but that piece of you will always feel a bit empty.
@Timelordswife Listen to what the players want and include/allow where reasonable, don't forget to include elements of backstories offered, and stay organized enough that you're not changing the facts every session. To me, those are the most important elements. No such thing as perfect.

@RRollplaying That was my wizard! One of the party members tried to read her spellbook and rolled a nat 1 for an intelligence check to see how much they understood so I made it canon that she has bad/chaotic handwriting and note taking skills. Lol.
@AbyssalBrews In the game my husband runs, we were on a ship and ended up getting attacked by an enemy ship just as a surprise thunderstorm began to strike. We were rolling strength checks to keep from falling overboard and dex checks to avoid lightning strikes.
@RRollplaying In one of the games I play in, there is an innkeeper like that. We wander the world and, oh look, this guy has ANOTHER branch in XYZ city. Starting to make me suspicious of him. Lol.
@MythMystGames My group tends to prefer fighters over barbarians. It took me a while to appreciate my fighter, because they can seem plain on the outset, but from a heroic standpoint, what is more admirable than someone with no magic who faces everything with courage anyway?
@DnDBeyond In the game we recently finished, I would have had high hopes. We ran a suicide run with the world at stake to save an NPC friend. All current games... pretty sure I'm doomed. Lol.
@GabeJamesGames Not exactly the same, but my Curse of Strahd character was reincarnated and spent the campaign rebuilding her memories of who she used to be, only to find out her soul had been fighting Strahd for centuries in multiple incarnations. Getting the killing blow was extra fulfilling.
