One year on from the Strategic Defence Review, the Government's Defence Investment Plan is still missing.
I joined colleagues today to call for its publication and back Defence Bonds to boost investment in our armed forces.
Our national security needs action, not more delays.
@Adamjamesdance raised the importance of ensuring that children and young people with SEND continue to have access to specialist support, including SLT, as SEND reforms are developed.
He also called for a focus on identifying children’s needs early.
It was a pleasure to visit Chard Community Hub as they celebrated their 4th birthday.
The Hub is a vital part of the community, and I want to say a huge thank you to everyone involved for the incredible work they do. Happy Birthday, Chard Community Hub!
I spoke in Parliament about the experiences of constituents who reported historical sexual abuse but were let down by delays and failures in the justice system.
Victims deserve better. No one should be denied justice because the system lacks the resources to do its job.
Great to see new dental practice opening in Crewkerne today.
Following a practice opening in Chard last year, this is another positive step - but too many people are still struggling to find NHS dentists.
We need more dentists, proper investment & action to end the dental crisis.
Proud to stand with campaigners, young people and advocates calling for change at Ofsted.
It’s time to stop linking neurodiversity with negative outcomes and start building better understanding instead.
I joined campaigners at Downing Street to call on Ofsted to remove training materials that wrongly link autism with extremism.
Autistic people deserve understanding, not harmful stereotypes.
I spoke in the Commons yesterday on the Mandelson appointment.
Once again, the PM failed to answer the questions put to him - not good enough.
This saga is undermining trust. People want transparency and a Government focused on the issues that matter.
Welcome news that @BoeingDefense UK’s Yeovil site will see around 50 jobs supported as part of this new investment.
This builds on wider investment in area, inc. the Leonardo deal supporting 3k jobs, & shows just how important Yeovil is to the UK’s defence & aerospace sector.
More than 1,000 UK jobs are set to be supported under a new GBP 879 million contract to maintain and support the British Army Apache attack helicopters and the Royal Air Force’s Chinook heavy-lift fleet. Click image for more.

On Friday I had an appointment with the Community Dietitian Service at Yeovil Hospital. You may think this was nothing special but actually it is as the service didn’t run clinics in Yeovil until @Adamjamesdance and his Team intervened! Thank you Team 😊👍
I visited the Oscar Mayer site in Chard following fires and reports of antisocial behaviour.
The current state is impacting the local area and putting pressure on emergency services.
I’ll be following up to help move things forward and support a positive future for the site.
It’s clear a huge amount of work has gone into making the unit safe and ready - from new equipment to improved spaces for families and staff.
Thank you to all involved. I’ll keep working to ensure safe, high-quality care for families in our area.
I visited the maternity and SCBU at Yeovil Hospital ahead of reopening on 21 April.
I’ve been working closely with the Trust and raising concerns throughout the closure to ensure these vital services return safely for local families. Good to see the progress first-hand.
Fantastic news for Yeovil!
@YeovilCollege is now one of just five Defence Technical Excellence Colleges in England - a huge achievement.
Building on our strong aerospace sector and the recent Leonardo contract, this means more skills, jobs and opportunities for local people.
These figures are really concerning. Too many people feel able to speak up about dyslexia, but are not getting the support they need to thrive at work. Creating truly inclusive workplaces is not just the right thing to do - it helps organisations unlock talent and potential.
During our recent study, 87% disclosed their dyslexia at work, yet only 43% received support. This gap is costing organisations talent, performance, and potential every day.
Our Dyslexia-Friendly Workplace Pledge helps organisations build a more inclusive working environment. When you sign up, you’ll receive practical guidance, resources, toolkits, support, and a dyslexia-friendly badge to show your commitment to inclusive workplace practices.
Is your organisation ready to take the pledge? https://t.co/3tkfPTSV6U

🗨️ @Adamjamesdance:
"Shared ownership is meant to help people onto the housing ladder, but too often I hear from residents who feel they are stuck in the worst of both worlds - facing rising costs without the protections that other tenants or homeowners might expect."
🎯
Thank you to everyone who came to my Farming Forum on rural crime.
Really valuable to hear from farmers about theft, livestock worrying and more, and to have @ASPolice there to answer Qs.
I’ll take these concerns back to Westminster.
Attended an APPG for ADHD event this week focused on lived experience.
Powerful to hear the impact of delayed diagnosis and lack of support.
There’s much more to do - I’ll keep pushing for better understanding and support in Parliament.
