🇳🇬 #Nigeria: Inaction by security forces
Nigeria's Middle Belt remains trapped in a horrifying cycle where security forces are repeatedly warned of imminent massacres but fail to protect vulnerable Christian communities.
An investigative report by Obekwu Akoto, published as part of the CSI Fellowship for Nigerian Voices, exposes a recurring pattern of unheeded intelligence alerts, absent security responses, and the systematic destruction of forensic evidence.
The structural failure and lack of protection across the region reveal a catastrophic human rights crisis:
⚠️ Warnings ignored: In Yelwata, Benue State, a written government intelligence memo explicitly warned of a planned Fulani militia assault a month before it occurred. Yet, on 13 June 2025, attackers struck with total impunity, killing over 200 Christians and burning residents alive while nearby troops failed to respond.
⚠️ Evidence erased: Victims are buried immediately without autopsies, hospital records, or forensic analysis – effectively wiping out the crime scenes and forensic evidence needed to prosecute the killers.
⚠️ Impunity for attackers: Even when rare arrests are made, suspects are routinely released without charge or trials are indefinitely stalled, leaving terrorist networks and known militant camps completely untouched by federal forces.
CSI refuses to let these victims be forgotten. Our teams are actively combining direct humanitarian relief for displaced survivors with relentless international advocacy to demand structural protection for Christians in the Middle Belt.

@JDVance@DrOzCMS Thank you Mr. VP, for trying to cut the fraud out of this horribly corrupt and inept system we the people have allowed to steal us blind for too long.
Christians in #Nigeria: Under Siege 🇳🇬
Nigeria's Middle Belt – where a Christian is killed every 90 minutes. In the first nine months of 2026, a total of 4,216 Christians were assassinated.
Heavily armed Fulani militias have been carrying out merciless massacres, abductions, and land seizures.
The toll on these vulnerable communities is catastrophic:
📉 Over 22,000 innocent people have been killed in recent years.
🏚️ 1.3 million families have been violently driven from their homes.
⛪ Massive cultural erasure continues, with thousands of churches destroyed.
CSI refuses to let these victims be forgotten. Our teams are actively combining direct humanitarian aid for survivors with relentless international advocacy to demand protection and justice.

🇦🇲 #Armenia: CSI rejects Armenian government report
Christian Solidarity International rejects the Armenian government's "crisis in the church" report, which represents an outright affront to Church autonomy – which is guaranteed by both Armenian and international law.
The report written by the press office of Mr. Pashinyan's administration seems to be part of a calculated, state-sponsored campaign to silence the 1,700-year-old institution:
- State takeover plan: Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has actively pursued a political plan to overthrow His Holiness Karekin II, Catholicos of All Armenians, and subordinate the Church to state control.
- Prejudiced trials & arrests: The report was compiled by the Prime Minister’s own press office using unsubstantiated internet gossip rather than judicial evidence. By airing these allegations while the Catholicos and six bishops face active, politically motivated trials, the state is gravely violating their right to a fair hearing.
- Criminalizing dissent: The government accuses the Church of illegal political activity, ignoring that speaking out in defense of a displaced people following the 2023 ethnic cleansing of #NagornoKarabakh directly conforms to its constitutional role.
CSI President John Eibner has called on the Armenian government to immediately withdraw the report and respect the self-governing nature of the Church.
Furthermore, we urge the international community – including the US and the EU – to press Yerevan to halt this flagrant interference in internal ecclesiastical affairs.

🇦🇲 Statement at the @UN Human Rights Council on Artsakh / #NagornoKarabakh
During the Human Rights Council 63rd Session, Dr. Joel Veldkamp, Director for Public Advocacy at Christian Solidarity International, delivered the following statement on the floor.
The statement is co-sponsored by @WEAnews and @ECLJ_Official.
Mister President,
This month marks three years since Azerbaijan conquered Nagorno Karabakh and emptied it of its entire Armenian Christian population.
To this day, Azerbaijan continues to block all 150,000 displaced Armenians from returning to their homes, in defiance of the International Court of Justice order of November 17, 2023.
Azerbaijan is also unlawfully holding 20 Armenians captive for political reasons, and continues to demolish Armenian heritage sites, most recently a medieval cemetery near Shushi.
We are deeply concerned by the fact that this month, a group of 150 diplomats took part in a tour of Nagorno Karabakh’s ethnically-cleansed cities, a tour in which Azerbaijani officials falsely presented medieval Armenian churches as belonging to another people group.
Peace in the South Caucasus cannot be built on ethnic cleansing, politically motivated unlawful detention, and cultural destruction.
We call on this Council to take meaningful measures to ensure the safe return of the Armenians of Nagorno Karabakh to their homeland, with guarantees for the full enjoyment of their human rights.
One practical way to do this would be by supporting the peace forum for Nagorno Karabakh mandated by the Swiss parliament.
