@NTANewsNow This is very unfortunate, considering the insecurity bedeviling the North West. The Commission was created to help restore peace and revive the region through humanitarian intervention, but they have already started misappriopriating its funds from the outset.
Troops Arrest Additional suspect Linked to NIPSS Attack While Receiving Treatment for Gunshot Wound
By Zagazola Makama
Troops of Sector 6 have arrested an additional suspected Berom Militia allegedly linked to the recent attack on the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies in Kuru, Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Security sources told Zagazola Makama that the suspect, identified as Paul Kolsen, was apprehended in Farm Center at about 3:30 p.m. on July 5 following credible intelligence.
According to the sources, the suspect was arrested while receiving medical treatment for a gunshot wound believed to have been sustained during the attack on the institute.
The sources said the arrest represents another breakthrough in the ongoing investigation into the assault on the NIPSS facility, which has already led to the arrest of other suspects in recent days.
The latest arrests followed the July 2 attempted attack on the strategic national institution, during which troops engaged suspected Berom militia in a gun battle, killing one suspect while others escaped into nearby rocky terrain.
During that operation, troops recovered a service rifle bearing registration number CO-3175, which military authorities said had earlier been stolen from a soldier killed during an attack on troops at the Federal College of Land Resources Technology, Vom, on April 11.
The recovery of the weapon had already prompted security agencies to widen investigations into possible links between the recent attacks on security personnel operating within the Kuru-Vom axis.
Paul Kolsen is currently in custody and is undergoing further investigation to determine his alleged role in the attack and identify other members of the criminal network.
Security authorities said intelligence-led operations are continuing to track down other suspects connected to the incident as efforts intensify to dismantle the group responsible for the attack.
@GodsontiriI@Benle94120768@Abdul_Ahmad_ He is the only one the government set up a committee to investigate, and a report has been issued. That is why I am referring to it. However, many innocent lives were lost in that area.
@GodsontiriI@Benle94120768@Abdul_Ahmad_ Any place where there is security is a place where no one can block the road and kill innocent travelers simply because of their ethnicity, tribe, region, or religion.
Bauchi,Nassarawa or Abuja will be a good destination.
@GodsontiriI@Benle94120768@Abdul_Ahmad_ Many travellers have allegedly been killed on that road. Multiple vehicles belonging to innocent victims were recovered from that pond, and you know it.
@GodsontiriI@Benle94120768@Abdul_Ahmad_ What about the recent attack on NIPSS last week? A militia member was reportedly killed, and military weapons that had been stolen from another formation in the area were recovered. Please don't downplay or overlook it the way many believe the killing of General Alkali was.
@GodsontiriI@Benle94120768@Abdul_Ahmad_ When peace is restored, the institutions can be moved back. However, relocating institutions from security-compromised areas to safer locations is the best course of action.
@GodsontiriI@Benle94120768@Abdul_Ahmad_ But all these security challenges directly affect innocent people and should be dealt with decisively. Institutions in any security-compromised area should be relocated to a safer location, whether in Zamfara, Plateau, Kano, or Maiduguri.
@GodsontiriI@Benle94120768@Abdul_Ahmad_ I didn't discuss the Zamfara situation with u, but there are dfrncs. Zamfara's case is primarily associated with banditry and kidnapping, while Plateau's crisis began with land disputes, farmer-herder clashes, ethnic identity, and religious tensions. It is largely identity-based.
@GodsontiriI@Benle94120768@Abdul_Ahmad_ It is a fact that Plateau has experienced a series of crises for more than two decades.
You can call it whatever you wish, but you can't erase history or the documented reports.
@Benle94120768@GodsontiriI@Abdul_Ahmad_ The lack of law enforcement without fear or favor has contrbtd to situations like this. Gen Alkali's massacre exposed many ppl who were complicit in the crime, incldng comm leaders. Some of them are still at large. We also witnsd mothers protstng in an attempt to stop the invstgn.
