@biggestfan89@a1mosthuman@krassenstein I lived in Traverse City in the mid eighties. It was touristy town then. I remember the old psych hospital, the Cherry Festival and the ducks. There wasn’t a Walmart back then.
I and John Kelly will host today’s Watch Party of Thoughts About Medical Assisted Suicide. As we witness and live the attacks on the disability community, this is an important film to watch. It will be at 3:00 pm Eastern today .

1 thing gives me hope. Disabled ppl organizing. Orgs like @DisabledSouth and @DisabilityPower we need more of this. Nothing changes for our community relying on the kindness of politicians. Change for disabled ppl has only happened when we made it happen. #CriptheVote#ADA35
@GavinNewsom is trying to bring back asset limits for Californians to qualify for Medi-Cal. Again when and again both parties have shown us that they love our community as long as being a part of the world doesn't cost them. #CripTheVote#ADA35#ADA2025
Dems in NY also passed #assistedsuicide legislation this year because what better while taking away people's ability to live their lives in the community than ensure they have an option to die. #CripTheVote#ADA35#ADA2025
But the @GOP are not alone. Democratic governor's like @GovKathyHochul & @GavinNewsom have done their own damage to the Community Hochul destroyed the best home care program in the state leaving thousands of workers unpaid and disabled people without care! #CripTheVote#ADA35
As always it seems as though everyone loves disabled people until they decide we are too expensive. Federally @realDonaldTrump's GOP has decimated Medicaid. #CripTheVote#ADA35#ADA2025
Its #ADA35 and its hard to feel hopeful for the Disability Community. #Disability does still seem to be bipartisan, unfortunately the bipartisan effort seems to focused on attacking Disabled people's ability to live our lives. #CripTheVote#ADA2025

URGENT BREAKING: Fired Epstein and Maxwell Prosecutor, Maurene Comey, just issued this following statement:
"Yesterday was unexpectedly my last day in the Office. I was summarily fired via memo from Main Justice that did not give a reason for my termination.
Every person lucky enough to work in this office constantly hears four words to describe our ethos: Without Fear or Favor. Do the right thing, the right way, for the right reasons without fear of retribution and without favor to the powerful.
For the majority of my nearly ten years in SDNY, the hard part seemed to be acting “without favor.” That is, making sure people with access, money, and power were not treated differently than anyone else; and making sure this office remained separate from politics and focused only on the facts and the law. Fear was never really conceivable. We don’t fear bad press; we have the luxury of exceptional security keeping us physically safe; and, so long as we did our work with integrity, we would get to keep serving the public in this office.
But we have entered a new phase where “without fear” may be the challenge. If a career prosecutor can be fired without reason, fear may seep into the decisions of those who remain. Do not let that happen. Fear is the tool of a tyrant, wielded to suppress independent thought. Instead of fear, let this moment fuel the fire that already burns at the heart of this place. A fire of righteous indignation at abuses of power. Of commitment to seek justice for victims. Of dedication to truth above all else.
It has been an honor to fight for those principles by your side.
Maurene"
CBS canceled Colbert’s show just THREE DAYS after Colbert called out CBS parent company Paramount for its $16M settlement with Trump – a deal that looks like bribery.
America deserves to know if his show was canceled for political reasons.
Watch and share his message.

BREAKING: In a shocking moment, Trump declares that he is unable to be a President to ALL Americans, as he hates Democrats. "They hate Trump, but I hate them too. I really do, I hate them. I can’t stand them."
What a small, hateful man.
BREAKING: CNN drops a major bombshell and reveals that Donald Trump is planning to escalate his fascist crackdown on migrants by dismissing hundreds of thousands of asylum claims — making the individuals immediately vulnerable to deportation.
And it gets so much worse...
According to two "sources familiar with the matter" who spoke to CNN, the people being targeted by this new measure entered the country without documentation but later applied for asylum. In other words, they are trying to go through the legal channels. Rather than reward them, Trump wants to bring the hammer down on them to appease his xenophobic MAGA base.
Over the past ten years, roughly 25% of the people who applied for asylum with the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) stated that they entered the United States without documentation. In total, it amounts to about 250,000 people.
While U.S. law mandates that people seeking protection from violence or persecution in their country of origin may claim asylum and remain in America, one of Trump's first moves this term was to all but end the ability to make such requests at the southern border. The truth is that MAGA supporters don't care about getting rid of criminals like they claim, they want to get rid of all immigrants to bring about their vision of a white nationalist America.
CNN also obtained a memo from MAGA Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem empowering her subordinates to fast-track the deportations of people applying for affirmative asylum through USCIS. She has directed them to "take additional actions to enforce civil and criminal violations of the immigration laws."
The fast-track deportation process will allow Trump's immigration enforcers to remove people without even granting them a hearing before an immigration judge in what amounts to a blatant scheme to undermine our legal system. This is not about law and order, it's about reshaping demographics.
"They’re turning the agency that we think of as providing immigration benefits as an enforcement arm for ICE," said Sarah Mehta, the deputy director of government affairs for the equality division of the American Civil Liberties Union.
“The government should process asylum applications – not throw them out. Every asylum seeker should have an opportunity to have their asylum case processed," said Conchita Cruz, co-executive director of Asylum Seeker Advocacy Project. "These are immigrants who have been in the U.S. working legally for years and are contributing to local communities throughout the country. Dismissing their asylum cases will hurt them, their families, employers, and communities that rely on them."
As evidenced by the millions of people who took to the streets for the "No Kings" protests, Americans want less of Trump's cruel anti-migrant policies, not more. He's ruling on behalf of a vocal, racist minority and it's time for the rest of us to stand up against it.
Please retweet and ❤️ to demand an immediate halt to this fascist escalation!
BREAKING: The U.S. military is now warning troops that the strike on Iran is expected to trigger immediate retaliation, including missile attacks on U.S. bases across the Middle East. Officials also say it will likely mobilize Iranian and foreign terrorist cells worldwide, including on U.S. soil.

People with disabilities are fed up, we have been marginalized to death, we have literally lost income and rights under federal, provincial and municipal policy failures, we are car accident survivors, workplace injured ignored by wsib, some of us are born with a rough start, others develop it later, but none of us deserve to be treated like this.
The rise of MAiD in this nation, a beacon of democide around the world, has been a coercive nightmare. We have lost many advocates who ended their own life, including some through Medical Assistance in Dying. Now it is illegal to be homeless, $10,000 fines we cannot pay, we are vilified provincially by premiers and then ignored completely at a federal level.
People with disabilities are 27% of Canada's population, passing christianity in a few decades at this rate of growth, it costs on average 40% more to be disabled, and by ignoring us, letting us lose our homes, having to start over, forgetting preventative care etc, you add to the $86+ billion a year we waste on poverty maintenance instead of positive growth things like a real Canadian Disability Benefit, universal basic income or a Canadian disability insurance plan.
It costs you more to vilify us, to price us out of homes with sky high rent and 2x below poverty disability support, costs you more to have police sweep parks and tent cities to move us from spot to spot, you cost yourself more ignoring our physical, dental and mental health leading to more public melt downs, assaults and preventable violence, or denying small mobility or life tools that snowball into a hospital crisis that once again costs you more, but it will cost you nothing to become disabled...
Just like with the climate crisis, if you'd invested when begged, this would be less of a problem.
Canada, you're doing this all wrong, and you'll pay for it with an arm and a leg, because #POVERTY #ACCRUES #INTEREST.
