I feel like Sauron is a character that obssessively wants to achieve a sort of Perfection. He first saw that in Melkor and so joined him. Every other character he then ‘seduces’ are just a way for him to achieve a new and “better” Perfection.

Adar had so much hope for his children not knowing they lost trust in him. They didn’t understand that for Adar, even dying for the hope of true freedom was worth everything. They only saw family dying bcoz Adar was holding onto something they never knew how to imagine.
