Spurs are up 27, the biggest halftime lead by a road team in NBA Finals history.
Tied for the third-largest halftime lead by any team in Finals history.
@NbaWoody I think they traded too much even before the results were known. What we don't know is what was available then and what could have been available. What I don't trust is they will go into the tax. That's the true test of if they are committed.
@MontankSeth@AlexGoldenNBA I did not like the Zu trade because it was too much to give up. Maybe that was the best they could do. You've been kind of rude during this exchange so I am out. Glad you like where the team is. I do hope this all works out. And I hope I am wrong
@MontankSeth@AlexGoldenNBA Do you believe this was a good trade? Do you really believe that they would not have gotten something of value for the fifth pick in the draft along with the other draft Capital they have?
@MontankSeth@AlexGoldenNBA You said he was worth a fifth round pick and I agreed with you. But that's not what was given up. That is my point. I'm trying to figure out what you are arguing.
@MontankSeth@the2kmessiah I'm not hysterical. I'm more realistic about what's going on than some. Even with matherine not being a starter the hopes of getting anything for our current draft stock is not great. Am I wrong?
@MontankSeth@AlexGoldenNBA You are correct zu is the type of player that you would get for a number 5 pick. But we also gave up Matherine, Ijax, and a 2029 unprotected pic. So yeah it was more than an overpay.
@CharlesIberch@TonyREast I think they had to make a move. They needed a center and they needed an impact player. They gambled on getting the impact player after getting a reliable center. I wouldn't have done it but that's what they did.
@LoL__Paul@AlexGoldenNBA Just one man's opinion. I don't like zu as a center for a team that plays and Pace and space. He's better suited for a half court offense that does ISO and short roll ball screens. Who knows what could have happened if things went differently.
@JoeOlmsted That's where I agree with you. I don't think there's enough on this roster. I also think the brass do not believe there is enough on this roster and they will not go into the luxury tax because of that.
The true test will be if you are willing to go into the luxury tax to keep the core together and go out and find the missing piece. My money is on this is not the way it will go.
I'm really sorry to all our fans. I own taking this risk. Surprised it came up 5th after this year. I thought we were due some luck. But please remember - this team deserved a starting center to compete with the best teams next year. We have always been resilient.
@LoL__Paul@AlexGoldenNBA That fifth pick is more valuable now than it was prior to the draft. I'm saying that they could have gotten better than zu. Because that's all we have now
@MontankSeth@AlexGoldenNBA Also know that the 5th pick is a highly sought after pick as well. The point is , this was a bad move. Do you think Zu was worth all that was given up? I think the pacers could have traded the 5th(and same draft Capital they gave up)for more than at top 40 talent.
