In the 2011/12 promotion season, £800k was spent on acquiring players for a total wage bill cost of £8.8m, in 2019 £500k was spent on signings and £10.4m on salaries. #CAFC

@soverncomfort Presumably this will relate to Kirk, Fraser, Stockley, Aneke, and Clare. However it'll also include any agent fees (Charlton spent just under £200k from Feb 21 to Jan 22) and any fees relating to loan signings as they are also considered intangible asset additions.

@ScottJHamilton Probably, but the accounts don't specify. They likely also include agent fees though. The EFL publish these annually so the account periods don't quite match up - but Charlton spent over £200k between Feb 2018 and Jan 2019 on agent fees. Part of this was in the 18/19 season

#CAFC wage bill in 2021/22 was likely the fifth biggest in the league (Sunderland & Sheff Wed are yet to publish theirs, while Wycombe haven't published full accounts). It was also was 2% larger than the 2018/19 Promotion winning squad.

@airmanbrown I suspect it is something to do with this. Someone has amended it in one place but left the old categorisation somewhere else. Match day revenue is higher in the second mention, perhaps something to do with the renting of the ground to the YouTube group etc
