@sheblocksidiots @SamanthaKolber It’s about choices. My mom divorced my abusive stepfather my senior year. I served my country, then spent 7 years to finish a 4 year degree working as a single mom, then working a career eating ramen, pbj and hamburger helper to pay it off.
Reminder to self & fellow teachers:
They’ve had all term. We don’t need to jump thru hoops & sacrifice ourselves to reach a goal they just decided to recognize.
It’s not healthy for us or good for their future self/employers if we do.

@gowiththef10w When I B&M (MS), I did menu work for the week (day 1 whole group instruction, quick chunk practices) and the rest of the week they had various tasks to complete, rotating options. They chose one from each “course”. Kids knew what to do. Once trained, it was gold.
@theDRAMAgoat1 The emotional exhaustion from being there to support each as an individual when and how they need it, especially since many of us are empathetic by nature.
@RachelCruze Yes! I was so tempted by those Black Friday deals for things we are saving for! We’d have saved hundreds, only to pay interest on thousands! Glad we resisted!
