@empiresacks2@ShitpostRock This is correct. Ho Chi Minh is a nationalist first, communist second. He recognized communism is effective in uniting the oppressed. But he is a huge fan of US freedom ideals and he doesnt shy from that at all. The first line of our DoI directly refers to that of the US's.
@mycoliza Based and hypermedia-pilled. No Karen, your blog-disguised-as-a-recipe site does not need complex client state management, hydration, or tree-shaking bs to justify sending a whole ass "application" over HTTP everytime im trying to cook some ragu. Just put the HTML in the bag sis.
@HumanAntiCheat1@bee_fumo it's been for me since I started trying out wayland so about ~6 years ago? Im a minimalist tho so the chance of something in the chain fucking up might not be as high. Tests even back then backed up my claim (that X11 < wayland < X11composite but it's all close enough).
@HumanAntiCheat1@bee_fumo It really is the same to me. Im using Xmonad + picom for reference. Maybe if I go to length to setup a mouse dragging to resize it can show but as far as using keyboard to resize (so stepped), it looks the same no matter how hard I go at it.
@HumanAntiCheat1@bee_fumo sure, without having to use the display server API, the overhead isn't there. I disagree with the way snappier comment though. I have both wayland on my laptop and X11 desktop, and I can't feel a difference.
@HumanAntiCheat1@bee_fumo it's literally is the same technology, what can I even say? Wayland just made it so that the display server is tied to the compositor, and X11 (actually Xorg) expose API for you to choose compositor. If you think these are fundamentally different, then I have no words lol.
@HumanAntiCheat1@bee_fumo more info compositors are necessary for every effect harder than placing a window in a position. This does not mean they are bad (hence why Wayland wants it to be the default). X11 lived in a time where nobody cares, so it is the one that has to add *optional* support.
@HumanAntiCheat1@bee_fumo Hate to break it to you but the whole wayland ordeal is that you *must* ship a compositor, everything else is optional. That means each of your DE/WM has a compositor with different capability, unless they are using a common one like wl-roots. You're in the mess you claim X11 has
@LundukeJournal ..., and if you cannot look past politics on other platforms to contribute, you're an activist, not a developer. It's funny that even when Linus proved to go against the leftism grandstanding, there's that one guy that has to slander because of their unresolved trauma.
@LundukeJournal The Russian ban is on the account of US sanctions, the anti-vax was because the original poster was bringing it to a *technical* discussion, and that whole tweet specifically mentioned *his* views, on *his* account...
@RyuukuSensei if anything this proved ToA has been quite lenient at least every since Camellya released. I know she was busted at the time but what do you mean that team only reared its ugly head only *now*?????
@RoyCalbeck If humanity was about to die out of starvation and God descended from above asking each person whether they want to be given food or die, with the caveat that if >50% chose to die, God would give everyone food instead. Apparently me getting food is killing those chosen to die.
@_SantiDev_@anxientkana (3/3) It's like pointing to a developer version of a PS4 then complaining that the release version don't have all the features. Yeah no shit, because that version was never meant to be sold.
@_SantiDev_@anxientkana (2/3) Remember that all of what you are hearing is not what is selling to you, but through unofficial means. The only thing that matters is the release version, any relative comparison with unreleased beta vers are irrelevant.
