@RealGeoffBarton@TheRSC@DanielGwynEvans It is a brilliant production. I think the best version of the play I have ever seen. The set was stunning! (We saw it on Monday - without the glitch!)

@RealGeoffBarton@TheRSC Saw it tonight, it has always been a difficult play for me, but this version cuts to the quick, exposing the sleazy world of politics and power. The director talk before was really interesting and helped to give a sound reason for cuts made. Well worth seeing.
@RevRichardColes Even stranger is to visit Dunedin in New Zealand and see the Corstophine bus! Not for nothing is Dunedin called the ‘Edinburgh of the South’
@RealGeoffBarton The lines being cut led to some of the relationships between characters being under developed as with the queen and Mortimer, but all in all an interesting production which got me thinking- never a bad thing.
@RealGeoffBarton Finally got to see Edward II. Set was excellent - loved the Westminster Abbey mosaic floor. Not sure about the actors being miked. I’ve never noticed it before, but it led to some weirdly detached voices.
@arthistorynews Glad you linked these two - I found the Hockney exhibition last year at the Fitzwilliam to be interesting when you saw the two side by side.
