Of course this is not sedition, and this graphic is a lie.

Nobody in that video told the military to disobey the convicted felon, or any president. They said something very specific and very lawful, service members have a duty to disobey illegal orders. That is established military law and constitutional doctrine.

So let’s be clear. If the convicted felon thinks that statement was about him, then the only logical question is this, why does he assume his orders would be illegal? They did not mention him at all. They mentioned illegal orders. If he sees himself in that description, that says far more about him than it does about them.

Here are the facts.

Service members are required to obey lawful orders.
Service members are required to refuse unlawful orders.
Following an illegal order does not protect them, it makes them personally criminally liable.

That is not political opinion, that is the Uniform Code of Military Justice, DOD directives, Military court findings, and long standing military doctrine. There are even formal procedures for this, including requesting clarification through the chain of command and consulting JAG. This is taught from day one in military training.

Sedition is attempting to overthrow the government. Explaining that troops must refuse illegal orders is doing the opposite. It protects the Constitution, protects civilians, and protects the service member.

The lawmakers in that video were absolutely right. They were affirming the rule of law, not undermining it.

This does not require interpretation. You just listen to the video. They said illegal orders. The only person injecting the convicted felon into this narrative is the convicted felon himself.

And if he is offended by the idea that troops must refuse illegal commands, maybe the problem is not the law, maybe the problem is the kind of orders he believes he should be able to give.

That is the real danger here.
