“Your people need to know that you’ll fight for them.”

A title may earn a leader some initial respect and compliance, but genuine commitment is built when people know you’ll advocate for them, protect them, and stand beside them when the stakes are highest.

If you want people to fight for the mission, they first need to know their leader will fight for them.
