A coalition of concerned Zongo youth in Nima and surrounding communities has launched an all out campaign against substance abuse and crime in Zongo communities.

The campaign which forms a larger part of renewed efforts in redefining ‘zongos’ has targeted individuals known in the local communities as drug peddlers and suppliers of substances, which have left majority of the youth in addiction.

The latest of the group’s operation has resulted in the confiscation of a large consignment of opioids and a pump action rifle from two suspects, who were handed over to the police.
