An hour until MarineFest starts! Looking forward to learning more about controversial issues in our marine environment from videos my peers made. My group will be presenting about the controversy between birth control as the estrogen enters the marine environment. #MarEnvs20
@RepDebDingell@EcoWatch@ewg Human-made PFAS cause much pollution in our streams, lakes, and oceans. It is similar to estrogen polluting the water from contraceptive birth control and turning the fish intersex.
@MikeHudema Scary to see the sea level rise in the "Hunger Stones" due to increasing temperatures. Europe isn't region with the largest rise in sea level, showing our whole planet is affected.
@foe_us These bioplastics also enter our food stream through trophic transfer. Zooplankton, at the bottom of the food chain, eat the plastics thinking it is food, and then the plastics move all the way up the food chain, even to humans.
@EcoWatch These toxics PFAs in Lake Michigan remind me of the PFAs in the Sydney Harbor due to industrial pollution. It's sad to see how toxins are affecting bodies of water worldwide.
