A massive thank you to Iceland for stopping whaling this summer!
Because of this momentous decision you have saved around 150 magnificent, beautiful, intelligent whales. Now let's stop whaling for good and save many hundreds more!

Fantastic talks by @ProfCallum & @HugoSAS, and really informative panel discussion at ‘Saving Our Seas’ event. A great way to spend #WorldOceanDay 🌊
Thank you @FalmouthUni / @UniofExeter for a really fun workshop this morning on how we can make our research more accessible and impactful, using #Oceanoptimism 🌊
Super helpful when you have a great team and awesome paper to use as an example😎 ...

Shocking, yet unsurprising. @sascampaigns
"We've found out that less than 10% (686) of Emergency Overflows in the sewerage network are monitored for sewage discharges, of 7,016 across England."

Gillnets are legal in the UK, yet remain one of the most destructive forms of fishing. My hometown beach is feeling the brunt of this at the moment, and is demanding tighter regulations and even a potential ban @NWIFCA @SharkTrustUK@mcsuk
Over the last month, @Pearceben98 has been working alongside the @MantaTrust and the SixSenses team in #Laamu Atoll (the Maldives), collecting data on the daily and seasonal use of two #manta ray cleaning sites using remote underwater #photography. #MEM2022projects 📸🔎🌊 [1/3]
I attended a @BDMLR callout for an entangled seal. Unfortunately, we could not locate the seal but we did find and rescue a fox cub who is now undergoing rehabilitation. It was a difficult rescue but hopefully the cub will make a speedy recovery 🦊🤞

South West Water are full of 💩
Stratospherically high levels of E. coli were found in the water samples we took at St Agnes last Thursday.
@SouthWestWater tried to deny responsibility. But the E-Coli levels of the four samples we took were between 35,000 and 230,000 CFU per 100ml of water. E-coli levels in coastal bathing waters must not exceed 500 CFU/100ml. 😱 😡 🤬
Thanks to all those who spoke at the #southwestmarineecosystems webinar on #seals, a privilege to learn about the amazing research and progress from the past year 🌊 really cool to see some up to date content on #climatechange as well! @ExeterMarine

.@thisischerilyn I've responded to @DefraGovUK sandeel consultation to support a ban on industrial trawling for this important fish in English waters. Please lend your support and help save our globally threatened seabirds who rely on sandeels to survive. #SaveOurSeabirds
Wetlands are amazing! They provide so much to humans, wildlife and species and are some of the most vibrant environments around. They are also connected, precious, my favourite habitats type but yet massively underthreat. Here's to the wetlands. #WorldWetlandsDay2023
Saved the best field site till last, skies full of birds and banks full of mud at Rogerstown Estuary .. thank you @mindtheTrapp for the past few days, and for reminding me how good it is to be clean 🧼💙
You know #fieldwork has got the better of you when you’re naming worms @mindtheTrapp 🪱 another successful #sampling day yesterday, one last mud session to go 🤞🏻 @ExeterMarine
Much less picturesque #fieldwork this time around, habitat quality #sampling in each of our selected protected estuaries 🌊 Though sunshine and above 0 temperatures are an absolute treat ☀️ @mindtheTrapp @ExeterMarine
Instead of working to #DefendNature, UK Gov has done the opposite. By approving the use of a deadly banned pesticide, they are putting our pollinators at risk. 🐝
Something must be done. #SayNoToNeonics Contact your MP today. Pollinators need a voice. https://t.co/UXvOkcvyZ9
Incredible to finally meet the beautiful visitors to Falmouth harbour of the past week, all as part of our #MMO training 💛 @ben_hadn thank you for the epic footage!!
