UBER DRIVER JAILED FOR RAPE AT KNIFEPOINT

Adam Daley, 33, has been sentenced to 16 years in prison after being convicted of raping a woman at knifepoint in Leicestershire.

Daley approached two women outside a bar and offered them a lift through the Uber app. After dropping one passenger home, he drove the remaining woman to a secluded lay-by, threatened her with a knife and sexually assaulted her.

The victim immediately contacted police, leading to Daley’s arrest within hours. Bodycam footage later showed him attempting to destroy his mobile phone while being detained.

He was convicted of rape, sexual assault, possessing a bladed article and making threats to kill.

He also admitted two drug-driving offences after testing positive for cocaine.
