Met this beauty today. Wild fox cub. In a rural car park nr Tywyn, mid-Wales. Too close for my DSLR to focus so iPhone vid. Naturally inquisitive but still wary. I think a piece of my heart melted! ๐๐ฆ #TwitterNatureCommunity@CarlBovisNature@sharkeee @louisenobladder
@NTGates@BBCSpringwatch@RSPBScience@_BTO@RoyEntSoc Our garden nesting Great Tits (fledged) & Blue Tits (imminent) have been ceaselessly feeding suet/mealworm pellets & sunflower hearts from our hanging feeders. Without this Iโm certain theyโd have lost their broods as not finding any caterpillars.
@PlushieTumRs@quantocknature@Geckoo76@NaturalEngland@Natures_Voice@Quantockhills Several orgs responsible for areas of the Qโs. Each org have own legally defined purpose. There is public access & farming activity. The area is not wild land but does contain wildlife. Laws are imperfect with loopholes. It is essential our precious wildlife is not the loser here
@PlushieTumRs@quantocknature@Geckoo76@NaturalEngland@Natures_Voice@Quantockhills Great point re poss clash ๐ค If the RA does result in need to widen fire break at this location & proper timely surveys have been done for reptiles emerging from hibernaculum & bird nesting activity with no evidence for either then perhaps cutting now is indeed appropriate
@quantocknature@Geckoo76@NaturalEngland@Natures_Voice@Quantockhills Yep ๐๐ป Would be interesting to see the risk assessment for the cutting operations being undertaken in March. Were the areas to be cut surveyed for nest building immediately prior to works? Why not cut in Jan?
Iโve recently visited @WWTSteart & have just completed this quick survey. I know theyโre looking for a few more responses - please give your feedback using the attached link ๐๐ป
Can you spare a few minutes to give us some feedback in our online survey?

Well, I reckon that was a fitting final 2018 #ToadPatrol tonight for me here at my local patch in West Somerset. 10degC road dry with damp patches. An hourโs patrol resulted in this single male crossing the road headed away from the pond @froglifers@ARC_Bytes @ARGroupsUK
@gazwagon Nice! Iโll see your Waterfront & raise it with this: https://t.co/BzsczeRhHJ Please sit down & watch the whole song. Yes itโs a long version but worth it I promise. That Fender Strat though ๐ถ I defy you not to join in with the โla, la-la-la, laโs towards the end! ๐
@JochenLangbein@ExmoorNP @bto_somerset @Natures_Voice@AnchorBirder@SomersetWT Lovely male bird Jochen ๐๐ป Iโm currently in SE Cornwall for a couple of days & enjoyed watching a male & female kestrel (& peregrine) out hunting over the scrub-covers coastline. It would be fantastic if kestrel (& merlin) numbers are increasing locally ๐ค๐ป
Couple more phone snaps from this morningโs ride on @Quantockhills with my son @ludlam87. His first proper #MTB ride ever & my first for a zillion years it seems! Looking forward to the next ๐ #letsallride#cycling#quantocks
