Successfully treated 3 new pelvic patients that I’d never worked with before. I guess acting and sounding confident gets much more buy in with patients compared to just providing solid patient education 🤷🏻♀️
Pt comes in w/ dx of disc herniation, though it happened a few months ago. No longer has significant back pain, and is already very active as he is a pro tennis coach. What to do? Turns out he could still use some core work, and greatly enjoyed the intro of dead bugs 😆🐞
Pt w/ endometriosis shared its effects on her life physically/emotionally, and how it’s been hard for her to trust healthcare after previous bad experiences. Majority of treatment was talking. Really emphasized the importance of not just “physical” therapy but physical “therapy”.
Pt initially came in with pelvic pain and pelvic floor muscle weakness. Now after pelvic health day I was able to properly assess her pelvic floor strength independently and assess her progress in strengthening of her intrapelvic muscles 💪!
Reviewed different types of shoulder mobs w/ mvmt on Thursday, and realized it could be used w/ one of my pts w/ decreased shoulder ROM for Friday. Pt gained 20 deg of active shoulder flexion right after performing the mob w/ mvmt and decreased pain! 🙏 #needtoreviewmore
Had an initial eval today for a pelvic health pt. Pt was uncomfortable w/ internal work, so had to rely on only performing external assessments/treatments. As much as internal work can be intimidating, I never realized how limiting it could be to treat pelvic pts w/o it 😕
Pt came in discussing NRT (neural reset therapy) today and stated how it helped her pelvic pain become much better. Something about “resetting” the nervous system through activation of mechanoreceptors to facilitate release of tense muscles. Maybe something new to look into?🤔
Performed 3 internal treatments for pelvic pts successfully last week! Just needed to remember that just because you can’t see them doesn’t mean the pelvic floor muscles can’t be worked on like any other muscle. Much gratitude to the 3 pts that trusted me for their treatment 🙏🏻
Assisted in treating a patient for difficulties in gait.. it was amazing how much more enthusiastic this patient was with their spouse present and with music playing! Always need to consider what works for each patient individually to get the most out of their POC! 🕺🏻🎶
We’ve discussed what it takes to run a private practice PT clinic.. wish I’d been more prepared to take phone calls, handle scheduling, and deal with pt monetary transactions before starting this semester’s clinical! 🙃#unprepared#guessthisispartofmyjob#notgoodwithphonecalls
#PT546week13@juliehershberg Today’s lecture about dementia helped me learn about the progression of my grandmother’s Alzheimer’s, and made me realize I started noticing symptoms 6 yrs ago. As much as it’s sad, it’s important to keep happiness and humor alive for her☺️💖
Metastatic brain tumors. Not a happy topic to discuss, but brings into perspective differeing views with cancer therapies. Chemo.. to accept/have the risk of getting sick(but possibly prolong life)? Or to not accept/lose the chance of prolonging life? @juliehershberg#pt546week12
Contrary to popular belief, it isn’t necessary to wake someone up every 2 hours after they have received a concussion. Turns out the constant waking up could be giving them lethargic symptoms vs the concussion itself! #pt546week11@juliehershberg@manjiridahdul
Do you have a headache? Make sure to use the SNOOP4 principle to make sure nothing serious is going on! You can determine if you have a primary or secondary headache, and from there time, intensity, symptoms, and physical activity will tell! #pt546week10@juliehershberg
For every 40 seconds, someone in the US experiences a stroke. It is important to share the word about what signs and symptoms to look out for when someone could be experiencing a stroke. Early action is necessary to increase chances of survival! #pt546week9@juliehershberg

As a twin that was born 7 weeks early, I never realized I was at a higher risk of getting brain lesions that could have led to CP. It’s fascinating to learn about all the different types of CP that exist and their effects on life
CT, T1, OR T2? Are you looking at bright bone or is it actually fat and fluid? Always make sure to take a close look, because different shades of gray can actually show a lot! @juliehershberg#pt546week7#brainimaging
Although PD is a debilitating disease, it has a slow progression and can be controlled with levodopa/carbidopa. One prominent figure that was diagnosed in 1991 at age 29 is Michael J Fox! 27 years later he still advocates for research! #pt546week6@juliehershberg @NoraDarakDPT
Who would’ve thought that dizziness could be solved with something as simple as migraine medication if it’s dizziness associated with headaches? Healthcare providers should always pay attention to ALL patient S&S for optimal patient care! @juliehershberg#PT546week5
Apparently males are 4x more likely than females to experience traumatic spinal cord injuries. Why? Possibly due to more.. risky life choices/behaviors. Not all men, but perhaps that goes to show who generally should run the world 🤔👑 #PT546week4@juliehershberg@manjiridahdul
