A child’s first 1001 days - pregnancy to age two, are critical in laying their life’s foundations.
Winning the PMB was an enormous privilege. I want to unite Parliament around a world-first Bill to recognise this, and enshrine support for the 1001 critical days in law.

Cast out Caste and Untouchability:
India’s new census requires Dalits to disclose if they have become Christian or Muslims and if they do so they lose legal access to state benefits tied to caste identity.
A Commission led by former Chief Justice, K. G. Balakrishnan, is examining the impact on Dalit Christians and Muslims.
One human rights advocate says
“This is not just a statistical exercise. It determines who gets access to education, jobs, and representation.”
A pastor correctly adds “Faith gives us dignity. But survival demands compromise. The State should not make us choose between the two.”
A census which tests the boundaries between identity, rights, citizenship, and belonging, reinforces the place of caste - an inhumane system which should have no place in the modern world. @Sujat_Ambedkar@MissionAmbedkar@SantoshDass1048@AjayDutt48@CNACD@DalitFreedomNow@DalitFreedom

So proud of my Dad for his spontaneous valedictory Speech, following removal of Hereditary Peers from House of Lords. If they won't give you a slot...make one!
I renew my invitation for everyone to join me for the Prayer Vigil for Peace, which we will celebrate in St. Peter’s Basilica on Saturday, April 11, at 6:00 PM Rome time. #PrayTogether#Peace
At the National Prayer Breakfast, Claire Lai shared her father’s story.
In 1997, the year Hong Kong was handed to China, hearts across the city were filled with fear and doubt. #JimmyLai turned to Christ. His doubts were overcome by God’s mercy and grace and transformed into trust.
This Easter, Claire says there is nothing he wants more than to be a faithful servant to our Lord.
He remains alone in a cell, sentenced to 20 years, for refusing to stop believing in freedom.

On this Feast of the Annunciation, Christians celebrate Mary's wholehearted embrace of God's will. The angel Gabriel counseled her not to be afraid—words that Jimmy Lai lives by.
This drawing, which Jimmy created in prison, expresses his love for Mary and his trust in Divine Providence.

Jimmy Lai is a political prisoner facing life in prison under Hong Kong’s draconian national security law.
He sits in a shoebox cell with failing health and is even denied the Eucharist that sustains his faith.
Jimmy Lai needs to be freed before it’s too late.
Ahead of tonight’s State of the Union address, @SpeakerJohnson and Representative Chris Smith stand alongside Claire Lai in steadfast support of her father, Jimmy Lai. #FreeJimmyLai
My piece in the @TheTimesofMalta calling the Prime Minister @RobertAbela_MT to add his voice to those calling for the immediate release of Hong Kong hero Jimmy Lai.
Just because Malta is small, does not mean we do not have a voice. @SupportJimmyLai
“Please help spread the word to save Jimmy Lai before it’s too late.” – Claire Lai
Claire’s father, 78-year-old British citizen Jimmy Lai, suffers in a Hong Kong prison for believing in democracy. His release is urgent. Follow this account to show your support.
🔥🔥“PRETTY UNACCEPTABLE” - Lord Deben, in a blistering response to Lord Falconer, tells him that the House of Lords is doing its job by scrutinising “a very badly produced Bill” that is opposed by “every single organisation” who would implement it & by disability organisations.
