When evaluating crypto I find that one framework is better than any other

"The Internet of Value"

Or read backwards, the "Value of the Internet"

Let me explain...

Many people describe crypto as the new stock market, or the new silicon valley, web3 etc

These imply tech/product based approach where we look for apps or experiences with revenue and exponential user growth

That's very much true, however it fails to capture the reality of how these assets trade

There are many product-less and innovation-free assets that have achieved undeniable and lasting success here

But how?

When you think of crypto as simply: the internet itself (but with real value) it can make more sense

The majority of our time spent online is dedicated to wildly unserious things (cough memes cough)

How much of your iphone screen time is spent on your banking app? or your work emails?

This is the model that people describe with the phrase "attention economy" but I personally feel that IoV framework is even more apt as it captures all layers of the stack

I believe seeing crypto as an extension of the internet itself vs an evolution of the Nasdaq or Silicon Valley is a much better way to find winning projects and ultimately enjoy the process
