The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has once again affirmed its preeminent status on the national stage of traffic governance and road safety enforcement, emerging as the distinguished recipient of the Nigeria Transport and Logistics Leadership Award 2025 in the coveted category of “State Traffic Management Agency of the Year.”
This illustrious accolade follows a rigorous nationwide nomination process coupled with an extensive online voting exercise across diverse media platforms, culminating in LASTMA’s resounding selection as Nigeria’s foremost traffic management institution. The award serves as a profound testament to the Authority’s unwavering commitment to operational excellence, innovative service delivery, and the cultivation of a safe, efficient, and sustainable traffic ecosystem within Lagos State.
The Nigeria Transport and Logistics Leadership Summit and Awards 2025, convened on Tuesday, 14th October 2025, at the Nicon Luxury Hotel, Abuja, brought together an eminent assembly of policymakers, regulators, industry stalwarts, and thought leaders within Nigeria’s transport and logistics sector.
The landmark event provided an invaluable platform for the dissemination of transformative ideas and the recognition of institutions whose leadership, professionalism, and strategic interventions have significantly advanced the nation’s transport and logistics landscape.
LASTMA was ably represented by its Director of Logistics and Transport, Mr. Jubril Oshodi, who received the prestigious award on behalf of the General Manager, Mr. Olalekan Bakare-Oki. In his remarks, Mr. Oshodi expressed profound gratitude to the organisers and the voting public for recognising LASTMA’s relentless endeavours in ensuring traffic fluidity, safeguarding lives, and nurturing a culture of disciplined motoring across Lagos State.
He further dedicated the accolade to the Executive Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, whose visionary leadership and steadfast commitment to modernising the State’s transport architecture have empowered LASTMA to achieve operational preeminence.
Mr. Oshodi also lauded the top management team, Ministry of Transportation (Honourable Commissioner, Special Adviser & Permanent Secretary) for their exemplary oversights, strategic guidance, and unwavering supports in repositioning the Authority for enhanced efficacy and impact.
In his post-award statement, the General Manager of LASTMA, Mr. Olalekan Bakare-Oki, described the recognition as both a distinguished honour and an enduring call to elevated service, reaffirming the Authority’s commitment to upholding the highest standards of professionalism, discipline, and innovation in alignment with global best practices.
He reiterated LASTMA’s dedication to harnessing technology, human capital development, and stakeholder collaboration to address the evolving complexities of urban traffic management in Lagos.
The Summit and Awards ceremony, featuring keynote contributions from notable industry leaders including the Honourable Minister of Transportation, Senator Sa’id Ahmed Alkali, and the Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Shehu Mohammed, celebrated individuals and institutions whose strategic interventions have been pivotal in propelling Nigeria’s transportation and logistics ecosystem forward.
LASTMA’s distinction as ‘State Traffic Management Agency of the Year’ underscores its trailblazing role as a benchmark of operational efficiency and a model institution for other state-level traffic management agencies nationwide.

Northern Muslims Are Not "Idiots": Omoyele Sowore Got His Facts Wrong About School Closures in Saudi Arabia
Mr. Omoyele Sowore's claim that if he were President, no Nigerian state could temporarily shut down schools over Ramadan is a clear indication that He is uneducated about the Nigerian Constitution.
Even if he were President, Sowore could do nothing to states that elect to close down schools because, under the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999, as amended, primary and secondary education are constitutionally the preserve of states. It is only a person ignorant of the law who would say that if he were president, states would not do that.
In essence, he is saying that if Nigerians ever elect him as their President, he will ignore the Constitution or act unconstitutionally.
As it stands now, there is nothing the Federal Government or the President can do to states that have chosen to rearrange the school calendar to accommodate the Ramadan fast. It is their constitutional right even if you think it is not right.
And again, Mr. Sowore is most ignorant of Islam in Saudi Arabia for saying, “Saudi Arabia where everybody is headed for lesser Hajj—did they close down their schools? You see, those are ignorant Muslims. Basically, let me put it straight: they are idiots."
No, Sowore. Nigerian Muslims are neither ignorant or idiots. It is you who is untutored in Islam as it operates in Saudi Arabia. Please fact-check me. The Saudis traditionally close schools during Ramadan. It was part of their official school calendar. This was only changed in 2022 and replaced with a 12-day holiday for Eid, which the population complained about.
When this change caused social tension, the Saudi government announced a review, which granted Saudi regions the right to determine whether or not to stay open during Ramadan. Which is the same thing happening in Nigeria. The choice of school closures during Ramadan has been given constitutionally to the regions (states), like Saudi Arabia.
That is the essence of true federalism. If you are in a core Northern Muslim-dominated state that elects to rearrange the school calendar to accommodate Ramadan fasting temporarily, and you do not like it, then feel free to move to any of the other thirty-one states that do not close down schools.
And where was Sowore when schools in some parts of Nigeria closed down every Monday for a total of fifty-four Mondays in a year? So, in Sowore's mind, schools can close for sit at homes, but not for a holy period like Ramadan?
Sowore's present stance, like his plan to legalise marijuana (Igbo) if he is elected President of Nigeria, is proof that he is not mature and needs to be tutored about the Nigerian Constitution.
Finally, it is most unbecoming for anyone, most especially a former Presidential candidate, to use words such as idiot to describe Muslims. If he ascribes such a term to people he seeks to govern, how can he expect their loyalty to his government if he is ever elected?
Nigeria is a fragile country trying to maintain a balance between religions and regions. Thus, people should not open their mouths to say what they do not know and misinform the Nigerian public to cause social tensions and breach the peace in Nigeria.

🔹 Your team includes all your referrals, excluding the person who referred you.
🔹 KYC & BSC wallet deadline: Complete your KYC and enter your BSC wallet address by March 11!
We appreciate your support! More updates coming soon.
Hey #cPenNetwork community, our project is growing rapidly with your support and we're excited to share our development plan with you:
After the distribution, we will use the cPen app profits to:
- Buy cPen tokens regularly (to boost liquidity pools and grow the project).
- This is a long-term strategy, not a one-time move!
- Share a public BSC wallet so everyone sees every action.
- Post monthly updates — total transparency, always.
Why This Matters:
- We’re here to stay: Reinvesting profits = proof we’re committed for the long haul.
- Better for you: Stronger liquidity = smoother trades for the community.
As you may already know we are a tiny team without outside investment. And this brings us some advantages:
- No outside investors = no pressure to sell tokens.
- Zero profit-sharing = more pennies go back into cPen.
- We spend wisely to keep the project running forever.
Thank YOU!
Over a year in, we are proud of what have achieved without hype and marketing — you made this work. Let’s keep growing together.
We’re more confident than ever about cPen’s future!
Previously, we announced that token mining will soon switch from $PEN to $INK (please update your app to the latest version if you haven’t already). Today, we want to clarify the differences between these two tokens and why both are essential to our ecosystem.
$PEN will be used as the gas fee token on the cPen blockchain when we have the open network, ensuring smooth, secure on-chain transactions. Looking ahead, $PEN will play a key role in the future development and governance of the cPen blockchain.
In contrast, $INK is designed for in-app purchases within the cPen App. Similar in spirit to Telegram’s Star—but with a major upgrade—$INK will be fully on-chain and transferable, giving you enhanced control and flexibility in your app interactions.
Eventually, we plan to separate the cPen blockchain from the cPen app to form the cPen Foundation. Separating functionalities lets us optimize both our blockchain and app experiences:
• $PEN powers blockchain transactions and future governance.
• $INK fuels app-specific features and in-app economies.
This dual-token approach not only streamlines operations but also lays the foundation for a scalable, robust ecosystem. Thanks for being a vital part of our journey as we continue to innovate and grow!

Why will we buy cPen tokens?
We previously announced that we would regularly purchase cPen tokens. Based on community feedback, we’d like to clarify/correct our strategy:
Liquidity Pools
Purchasing cPen tokens is not intended to boost liquidity pools. As detailed in our Coin Economics, the Treasury pool already holds reserved liquidity tokens, so there’s no need to buy additional cPen tokens from the market for this purpose.
cPen App Project Development
We will acquire cPen tokens to support the development of the cPen app. Although our Coin Economics includes an Ecosystem Pool, its reserves are allocated for the cPen blockchain ecosystem. As mentioned earlier, the cPen blockchain and cPen app will eventually separate, with a dedicated cPen Foundation overseeing the blockchain ecosystem. Therefore, we’ve decided to regularly buy cPen tokens from the market to strengthen the cPen app ecosystem and drive its development.
Important Note
Our decision to buy cPen tokens is solely based on our commitment to advancing the cPen app project. This announcement is intended to provide transparency about our plans and should not be interpreted as advice regarding cPen tokens or any other cryptocurrency. Trading crypto involves risk, and you may lose your entire investment. Always conduct your own research before making any decisions.
We're thrilled that the #cPenNetwork app is ranked among the top free social apps on the Apple App Store in the United States! This achievement wouldn’t be possible without the incredible support of our community. Thank you!
Hey #cPenNetwork community,
In just 3 days, cPen mining will switch over to $INK. Please update your app to v1.2.20 or later to avoid interruptions.
Note: When mining transitions from $PEN to $INK, your current streak will reset for $INK mining.
On March 11, KYC and wallet address entries will be paused for balance verification and token distribution.
To qualify for the cPen token distribution, complete your KYC and add your BSC wallet address before March 11—if not, your $PEN tokens will be burned.
Thanks for your continued support!
