There’s a fundamental difference between the north and the south. And by north I mean the geographical north not the political north.

To start with, most of the north speak one language.
If you were to gather the whole north in one hall and do a town hall meeting, that meeting would be successfully accomplished in a language that majority of the people from the south would be unable to catch up with.

There are few things that give people a sense of belonging like having the same language does.
Think Babel.

Secondly most of the geographical north share a common religion in a way no other geographical region does.
Islam isn’t just a religion up north, it’s also a culture.
Most northerners have lost their native traditions thanks to the Islamic invasion so unlike the average southerner, religion up north is part of who you are not just what you do.

The average Muslim up north sees his politicking as a service to Allah and it’s his duty to do what Allah has willed.
In Islam something is good because God wills it.
“Insha Allah” is the mantra of the average northern Muslim and that ideology permeates everything he does. It is why you will see the okada guy who is a Muslim ride the way he does. He would only crash if it is the will of Allah and he can do nothing about it.

So when they go into politics their intention is not first to serve the people, it is to serve Allah. They’re first Muslims before they’re politicians. If it is Allah’s will to serve the people then serving them would be his priority. If it is Allah’s will to propagate Islam then he has his job cut out for him.

No matter what you do, you cannot replicate that in the south.
The average southerner is no where near that level of devotion.
Most people down south have nothing they’re living for.

Make a northerner the head of a parastatal, in 10 years all of his kin are everywhere there. From the gate to the kitchen to the office.
On Friday afternoon the offices are empty.
And nobody complains.

If a southerner is your boss, you will be praying first before submitting your leave request to attend an annual church convention.

This is why the north will always stand with their own.
What joins them is greater than what separates them.

What’s the solution?

Well if you’re a Christian like I am you know that this matters little in the grand scheme.
Your job is to preach the gospel and bring men to repentance.
North or south, the earth is the Lord’s.

In Psalm 103:7, we see the dual possibilities of the operations of God as revealed to man namely his ways and his Acts.

His ways are how his Acts are possible.

So we realize that behind the Acts are the ways, and if the Acts must be replicated the protocol of the ways must necessarily be mastered.

We know the Acts of the Apostles, we long to see them in our day, but how can we?

If God is serious about the redemption plan, and he is, he will ensure that whatever the Apostles did by the Holy Spirit are still reproducible. And they are.

If we walk the way the Apostles walked, we will see the Acts they saw.
