Hood Warfare 2 is blowing up on X and costs $5.39 on Steam.
Fuck it. I built our very own browser version, made it free and added a prize pool so you can actually get paid to play 😭
No download, no $5. Works on desktop and phone.
Same concept: Chicago block at night. Opps in red, homies in blue. 6v6. You get an AK and an RPG.
Kills charge 3 abilities:
Snitch reveals every opp on the map
Homies spawns two of your crew
Bomber sends a runner at the nearest enemy
The part I spent way too much time on is the destruction.
12,852 individual bricks and panels running through GPU physics. RPG a house and it blows open exactly where you hit it. The rubble actually stays.
Built with Three.js, real night-sky HDRI lighting and characters modelled and rigged in Blender.
Also added a weekly ranked ladder because apparently blowing up your friends’ houses wasn’t enough.
10 points per kill, 50 per win. Rankings reset every Sunday. Top 1,000 players qualify for USDC prizes, plus MVP and Rampage bonuses.
We put $500 of our own money into the first prize pool. Anyone in the community can chip in towards the next one.
Basically wanted to see if we could turn a game everyone’s watching into something people can play for free and compete for real rewards.
Whole thing is open source, fork it, break it, send fixes: https://t.co/ne9DBpnUmc
Still early, probably a bunch of stuff to fix.
Steam charges you to spin the block. We pay the people who do it best.

claude opus 5.5 can now build, rig and animate full 3d scenes inside blender...
the trick is letting opus orchestrate instead of model, but there’s a smart way to set it up:
- step 1: install blender 5.2.2 and the official blender mcp server
- step 2: open claude, pick opus 5.5 on high effort, run /mcp to confirm blender is connected
- step 3: install blender kit (edit > preferences > install from disk) for 140k+ free models, materials and hdris
- step 4: ask opus “can you see the blender kit library?” so it runs a test search before you build
- step 5: paste a reference image and a plain prompt. talk to it like a junior 3d designer, no structured prompts
- step 6: for characters, ask for the rig in the same prompt (“keep it realistic, rig it for smooth animation”)
- step 7: render a 480p preview first, then the final render (1080p can take 1-2 hours)
who does what:
- blender kit: chairs, couches, cars, wood beams, textures
- opus 5.5: writes the code, places assets, sets lights, rigs, animates
- blender: renders every frame
- you: review and fix the small stuff by hand
and the rule that saves the project... never let opus build a chair from scratch. it burns tokens and still looks fake. pull the asset and let opus arrange it
i like to check animations step by step before the final render. a glitch you miss early costs you 2 hours later
