H.E. President @edmnangagwa hosts a delegation from the United Republic of Tanzania, led by H.E. Ambassador Thabit Mahmoud Kombo (MP), who is also the Tanzanian Minister of Foreign Affairs and East Africa Co-operation. In an interview with the media after a closed door meeting the President, Ambassador Kombo revealed that the purpose of the visit was to present Professor Mohamed Yakub Janabi to the SADC Chairman, the SADC candidate to head the World Health Organization Regional Office for Africa (AFRO).
If elected, Dr Janabi will become the WHO Regional Director for Africa. The previously selected candidate, Dr. Faustine Ndugulile, tragically passed away towards the end of last year before assuming the post. The position falls vacant later this year when the tenure of the current Regional Director, Dr. Matshidiso Moeti, comes to an end.
Dr. Janabi is an experienced cardiologist and public health specialist, who serves as the head of the Jikaya Kikwete Cardiac Institute in Tanzanian.
Ambassador Kombo expressed his gratitude to President Mnangagwa and the people of Zimbabwe for warm hospitality. He added that H.E. President Samia Suluhu Hassan of the United Republic of Tanzania regards President Mnangagwa as an elder brother and senior statesman.

I am now retired after over 30 years in the Foreign Service, with postings in Malaysia, Greece, Ecuador and Tanzania, and headquarters assignments working on peace and security, sustainable development and climate change. Thanks to all the wonderful people I met along the way!
It's pathetic whenever one masquerades hate as intellectual panache! Even more pathetic when they provide half-baked condescending justifications! Evaluating and criticizing policies is one thing, trying to dilute the "Tanzanian-ess" of the person framing the policies is another!
@YoungAfricansSC keep your head up lads! Well done 👏🏾👏🏾The game-plan was solid, the execution was on point, the effort was extraordinary, the results were merely “unfortunate “, for lack of a better word!
@YoungAfricansSC has been victimized, every replay shows the whole ball crossed the line, please do better! @CAFCLCC if there is any footage/image that shows the whole circumference did not cross the line, please release it!Let’s preserve the sanctity of African football! #CAFCL
@CAF_Online@CAFCLCC last season when @YoungAfricansSC made the confederation cup finals in Algiers the stadium was inundated with flares so much so the Ref had to momentarily stop the game, the match was not only hostile it defied every notion of #fairplay
Today, the same team
Shameful! We need to do better, for the growth of African football! do we have goal line technology? If not, It is beyond baffling as to why goal line technology has not been implemented…
