Nothing is more important in a person than their values, character, and how they treat others. On that, I believe most reasonable people would agree.
What amuses me, however, is how some people like you cannot allow women to celebrate their achievements without inserting a disclaimer.
A post asking women to share their academic accomplishments was not a marriage proposal, a recruitment exercise, or a character assessment. It was simply a moment for women to be proud of something they worked hard for.
Yet somehow, the conversation must immediately shift to “degrees are not important,” “any idiot can get a PhD,” or “being educated doesn’t make you a good person.”
We know.
We also know that any idiot can father a child, but it takes an accountable human being to protect that child, her mother, and the women around her from unnecessary online noise and insults. Something that sadly you may never understand.
Nobody is saying academic achievement is the most important thing about a woman or it automatically makes her a good person. Just as being wealthy, married or religious does not make someone a good person.
But it is certainly one of the things she is allowed to be proud of.
Not every achievement needs to be diminished so you can feel righteous about your abysmal existence.
Sometimes, just say “well done” and move on.
It’s Day 2 of me begging to save my friend’s life.
Wemimo need about 2million Naria to get her next session of chemo
Please help me save Wemimo
Wemimo is a registered Nurse with a bright future
Hello everyone, if you can see this please help me repost so it can reach a wider audience. I’m currently battling chronic gastritis, and it has affected me mentally, physically, and financially.
My pinned tweet explains everything..
Amaka went to get pads. She wanted to get 3. Then she checked her purse, looked at the price tag, and did the math. She could only afford 1. Last month, she could afford 3 packs. Today, only a single pack.
When I first left home for school, my parents were very anxious. I was young, had always been protected by them, and had never been away from home before.
On my first day in the hostel, I met four ladies in my room. One of them was Wemimo. When she found out she was from the same town as my mum, she immediately took me under her wing. She helped me carry my things inside, arranged my belongings, and made sure I settled in properly.
She had already spent a year in the school, so she understood everything. But beyond that, she was kind. She looked after me, made sure I always had food to eat, and cared for me like a mother would.
Today, Wemimo is fighting for her life. She is battling breast cancer and has been unable to receive chemotherapy for weeks now.
Please help me give Wemimo a chance to live. She is a mother to a little boy, a registered nurse, and someone with so much life and future ahead of her.
Please help Wemimo.

Another set of killings and kidnappings in Kwara. The ones in Oyo are yet to be rescued.
A government that can’t protect its people is a failed government. This government is a failed one!
Teni Aladese cried so much in this movie omo, I’m moved to tears. May God answer everyone in need of a child at the right time which is now please.
How did she play this scene, crying so badly 😩😩 acting is tough o because before I can act a scene like this I must have thought of someone or situation that hurts me so bad.
💛💙 Cristiano Ronaldo statement.
“Nassrawis… what a season. From day one, we knew what we wanted and what it would take to get there”.
“We worked, fought and gave everything in every training and every game. It wasn’t an easy road, but we did it together. Thank you for believing in us and standing by our side every step of the way”.

We’re slowly getting used to an insane amount of violence. Levels of violence that are unprecedented. We’re seeing children whipped and burnt and we’re scrolling.
