You know what shook me when I was Muslim?
The story of Hosea. God tells a prophet to marry a woman He knows will betray him.
She does. She runs to other men. She ends up enslaved, sold, used up, worthless to the world.
And God tells Hosea to go BUY HER BACK.
To pay money for his own wife who cheated on him, and love her again. Hosea 3.
I thought it was the most humiliating command in the Bible. Why would any man do that?
Then I realized I was the wife.
I gave my heart to everything but God. I chased other masters. I sold myself cheap. I made myself worthless.
And God looked at me, the betrayer, and didn’t say “you’re not worth it.”
He said, “Name the price. I’m buying her back.”
That’s the Gospel. God doesn’t wait for the unfaithful to come crawling back clean.
He pays to redeem them while they’re still dirty.
Islam told me to make myself worthy of God.
Hosea showed me a God who pays to redeem the unworthy.
The cross was Him naming the price.
Praise the Lord.
Someone was asked why he had longevity in his industry while many other of his equally talented contemporaries had faded away.
His reply was "it is by God's grace and not because of anything I did right in myself."
This is how a religious mindset denies us the opportunity to learn.
Truth is, his longevity came as a result of certain wise choices he made.
What then he should have said was "Yes, I remain relevant till date because I made the right moves some of which I will share however it was God's grace that taught me these things without which I won't have known them and be still standing today"
By saying "it wasn't by any right thing I did but by God's grace" he made it appear it all happened because he was lucky implying others were not.
This puts his success in an inaccessible realm allowing for superstitious practices. God's grace teaches and gives us the right tools.
His success cannot now be trans-generational because he has "nothing" to teach others. If he had framed it right he would still have attributed it to God as the source of it all but then listed out things he was taught by Grace in the last 40years.

@FeyikemiJaphet@kemiadetiba@KemiVisuals when a performance pulls you in so deeply that your emotions start syncing with the character’s, at that point, you’re experiencing it with her.
I found myself smiling when she smiled and laughing along with her. And when she got angry… I was genuinely a little scared 😧
@IamCounsellor_@AdageorgeA@kamaFever Entitlement mindset with your siblings? Everyone could really do with some kindness, and with a sibling I don't think it's too much to ask especially if it won't cost you.
@Chizitere_xyz Stories like this annoy me a lot. Why did she have to wait for the situation to get to this point before learning, didn't she see this reaction coming?
We ladies really need to learn to make better decisions when it comes to dealing with men.
@Queenie_Bim I don't get why people are angry at this though. It's not like this post intends to say prayer is bad or anything against the pastor. She is Only talking about how loud pastor Jerry's voice can be which makes it unpleasant for her. She didn't even speak against Pastor Jerry
