This man is a matatu driver with two children. He wakes up early every day at 4 a.m. and goes to work. Yesterday, after finishing work, he happened to check his wife’s phone and found messages of her chatting with different men about having sex. It turns out she has been cheating with the local police officer in the area.
While the husband is out working to provide for the family, the wife goes to the police to experience horizontal engineering . Just imagine: you wake up early in the morning to hustle for your family, only to discover your wife is being used by other men.
He then told his wife he would throw her out so she could go live with those police officers. They started arguing, the wife left the house and stayed outside for a long time, then returned late at night with the police, claiming that her husband had beaten her and turning the whole thing into a case against him.
The wife has even teamed up with the landlord and some goons, so the man is now being targeted. The children are saying their father never beat their mother — that claim is a complete lie.

I wrote this yesterday and deleted it a few mims after, but I am putting it up again.

Some years ago, I was privileged to serve as a Presiding Officer (PO) for the general election during my NYSC.

One of the major things we were told during preparation was this: if thugs demanded the ballot boxes, we should hand them over. In simple terms, your life was not worth the sacrifice.

The experience itself was something else. We walked through stony-rocky-like terrain (attached is the pic below) to the village where we were posted.

Two policemen were attached to us for security. My assistant was a northern guy who spoke average English. Everyone was cheerful and lively until it was almost time for the election to begin.

Then my assistant went to meet some men. They spoke in Hausa for a while and he came back. At that point, I was already sensing manipulation because I could not understand what they were discussing.

He returned and told me one of the political parties wanted to “appreciate” us with money.

I asked, “For what exactly? We haven’t even started voting yet.”

I rejected it immediately.

Ironically, during training, we were told not to reject money if people offered it in appreciation of our efforts. But at least let us make the effort first...🤣

That decision created tension instantly. I turned to the security officers attached to us, expecting support, but they went against me immediately.

One of them said, “If you are not careful, we will abandon you here and you will face the consequences yourself.”

I was stunned. I still cannot explain how I summoned the courage to stand my ground and remind them that I was the Presiding Officer and they were meant to protect both me and the election process.

Honestly, it was God’s mercy that kept me safe because it truly felt like one man against everyone else.

Later, during a short break, they offered me food, but I refused to eat it.

At the end of the day, one of them looked at me and said, “Look at this small boy...” 😁

If you ever serve in an election, wisdom is essential.

After the election, we returned to the polling center and slept on the classroom floor, clutching the election results tightly. I kept waking up intermittently through the night just to make sure everything was still safe.

I don suffer small for my country sha...😁

I never shared this story with any family member before, but today I can look back and simply thank God for safety.

Even getting paid after the service came with another long wait.

Truthfully, there are too many forces- both in low and high places working against the system. It may take generations to truly cleanse and strengthen it.

If you will be serving as a corps member in the next general election, be guided by wisdom!

May the Lord help our country. And may we see a need to work for a country we desperately hope for!
