I'm old. Outside of the GBA games and Kaga Era Games everything else is basically in release date order. PoR was a birthday gift which got me into the series. Also despite playing Gaiden, I never finished it.

@fetwtconfession Obviously there’s more I could say but I’m limited. So some examples like, hearing about the serenes massacre and then going there ourselves. Winning back former allies, seeing how high and mighty the Begnion nobles act. Mist joining Ike against the BK to avenge her father. Etc.

@fetwtconfession A lot of PoR’s charm comes from how grounded the story is. Ike is forced into a leader role he wasn’t prepared for. The audience experiences the world building as he experiences it instead of being told. We bring together a diverse group on the units on a racist continent.

@fetwtconfession The problem is, Marcia had to quit her job as a Holy Knight because debt collector who were looking for Makalov kept showing up around the stables. Then even after she reunited with him, he would actively steal money from her to go gambling. He never learned a lesson either.

For the longest time it was a tie between Soren and the Black Knight. But when ever I think back to playing PoR and RD as a kid, I remember the fear I felt seeing the Black Knight on chapter 11 of PoR, and how excited I was when chapter 1-9 of RD happened. He’s just so cool.
