What does it actually take to win the Sustaining Impact Prize? 🤔🏆
We asked the people who have actually done it.
From Omoyemi Oladiran to Oguguamobi Oyesiji and Happiness Adama, our past winners are opening up about what happened after the cameras stopped clicking.
Hint: It’s about much more than just the funding, it’s about the systems that keep the impact alive.
One piece of advice they all shared? “Just apply. I applied on the deadline day because I felt I wasn’t going to win... don’t doubt yourself.”
Stop overthinking. Start building.

8 YEARS OF IMPACT. 1 NEW DIRECTION. THE REVEAL IS OFFICIALLY HERE! 🚀🔥
I know I kept you waiting an extra 24 hours, but a vision this big needed a moment to settle.
We’ve spent nearly a decade celebrating the grit and passion of African changemakers, but the truth is, passion alone doesn't build a legacy—systems do.
For the past few months, we’ve been working behind the scenes with our Advisory Groups to craft a summit that moves us from the "Hero Phase" to the "System Phase."
This year, we are stripping back the layers of how we build. We aren't just talking about social impact; we are talking about the strategic architecture required to make that impact outlive the person who started it.
Why "Systems that Sustain"? 🏗️
Because for your mission to survive 2026 and beyond, it needs to move beyond your personal energy. It needs resilient commercial models and a robust talent pipeline that doesn't crumble when you aren't in the room.
The Details You’ve Been Waiting For:
• The Theme: Systems that Sustain: Building Impact that Lasts in Africa.
• The Date: August 27-29, 2026.
• The Focus: Shifting from founder-dependent projects to sustainable, system-driven organizations.
What’s Next? 🗓️
The countdown is officially over, and the era of the System starts now. We are currently polishing the final digital experience, so stay tuned for when the official website goes live for registrations.
For now, I want you to see the vision for yourself.

Starting the week with some serious momentum. ⚡️
On Friday, we officially held the onboarding meeting for our first-ever cohort of the Impact Builders Program. This is a dedicated 3-month journey, and the energy in the room was a clear sign of the transformation ahead.
There is something incredibly grounding about seeing a fresh group of innovators commit to this level of growth. We spent the session aligning on our goals, setting the pace for the months ahead, and laying the foundation for the systems that will sustain their impact across Africa.
These “Impact Builders” aren’t just here to dream—they are here to execute. Moving from onboarding straight into deep work, I can’t wait to share the progress as they begin to transform their ideas into scalable reality.
Stay tuned, we will be sharing their headshots soon so you can meet the faces behind the next wave of social innovation.
The journey has officially begun. Welcome to the fold, Builders! 🤝

And just like that, we wrapped up our final class for the External Support Mastery (ESM) Program yesterday!
It’s been an insightful few weeks of learning, unlearning, and growing together with our incredible participants from across Africa.
A very special thank you to our facilitator, @skolar007 Andrew Echono, for pouring so much into this program. His sessions were rich, clear, practical, and deeply valuable. As a seasoned expert in strategic communications and fundraising, Andrew didn’t just teach — he gave his all. We’re incredibly grateful!
In this final session, He walked us through the power of networks — internal and external — and how they can be mobilised to unlock resources and drive growth for social impact organisations.
From building effective connections to leveraging partnerships for long-term sustainability, this session was loaded with insight and strategy.
We look forward to seeing how each participant applies these lessons to deepen their impact, build strategic partnerships, and unlock new doors of external support.
Let’s keep the fire burning. This is only the beginning.
