On Thursday, 9th July 2026, the Senate passed the “Proceeds of Crime Act (Amendment) Bill 2026” sponsored by my humble self, your Senator. The bill is seeking to establish an independent agency to manage assets recovered from unlawful activities. The bill is of national importance and crucial in the process of recovery and management of proceeds of crime for the benefit of Nigerians. In the past, each of the law enforcement agencies managed proceeds of crime as they deemed appropriate, without any national standard or expectations. The passed bill seeks to consolidate all proceeds of crime under one agency to enhance standards, tracking, accountability, and judicious deployment of the sized assets. It is a win for Nigerians.
My heartfelt appreciation to all my distinguished colleagues for your strong support in passing the Proceeds of Crime (Amendment Bill 2026).
This is a clear demonstration of your unwavering commitment to building strong and resilient institutions for a better future for our nation.

DELIVERING ON THE RENEWED HOPE MANDATE
My commitment has always been to deliver quality representation that brings meaningful development closer to our people across the Lagos West Senatorial District.
I remain deeply passionate about investing in projects that improve lives, strengthen our communities, and create lasting opportunities for our people.
Through the support of the Renewed Hope Agenda, we have continued to record significant milestones in critical sectors:
🏫 Education: From the construction of 36 classrooms at Awodi-Ora Primary School in Ajeromi to new classroom blocks at St. Michael School, Ojo; Oregun High School, Onigbonbo; Junior/Senior Schools in Oriade; and State Primary School, Mafoluku, Oshodi, we are expanding access to quality learning environments for our children.
🏥 Healthcare: We have delivered modern Primary Healthcare Centres in Ojokoro and Igbolobi Town, Ojo, ensuring that more families have access to quality and affordable healthcare services within their communities.
🎓 Youth Development & Empowerment: Through the establishment of Youth Development Centres in Badagry and a Skill Acquisition Centre in Mushin, we are equipping our young people with the skills, opportunities, and support they need to thrive and contribute meaningfully to society.
In addition, we have executed numerous community-based projects, including solar-powered boreholes, transformers, streetlights, market infrastructure, and other interventions across all 28 Local Government Areas and LCDAs in Lagos West. These projects reflect my unwavering commitment to improving the quality of life of every resident.
This journey is far from over. I remain committed to delivering impactful, people-centred representation and ensuring that every community in Lagos West continues to enjoy the dividends of democracy.
Together, we will continue to build a stronger, healthier, and more prosperous Lagos West.
Yesterday, during plenary, the bill on the Compulsory Free Universal Basic Education Act, CAP N4LFN amendment bill 2025 jointly sponsored by Sen. Adamu Lawal and my humble self, passed its third reading.
When it is finally assented to by the President and Commander in Chief, His Excellency, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR), it will strengthen the Universal Basic Education, increase funding for primary schools and early childhood education and reduce the undesirable situation of out-of-school children.
May I through this medium extend heartfelt greetings to fellow adherents of the Islamic faith across the 28 LGAs and LCDAs in Lagos West, Lagos State and Nigeria at large as we observe this year’s Eid Al Adha festival.
This sacred celebration reminds us of the virtues of obedience, sacrifice, faith and unwavering devotion exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim. It also serves as a call for us all to embrace peace, love, tolerance, and compassion, while extending kindness and support to those in need around us.
I urge us all to continue praying for the peace, stability and development of Lagos West Senatorial District, Lagos State and Nigeria at large.
On behalf of my family and political associates, I wish all Muslim faithful a joyous, peaceful and rewarding Eid Al Adha celebration.
Eid Mubarak.
