I have issued an Executive Order establishing a Coroner Inquest/Panel of Inquiry into the killings, shootings, injuries and violence reported at Naira and Kobo Junction, Motor Park/Garage Area, Ikire, on August 24, 2026.
The panel is chaired by Magistrate Ayokunle Shiyanbola, with Mr. Abiodun Badiora as Secretary. Other members are AIG (Dr.) Aderanti C. Kayode, mni (Rtd.), Mr. Dele Akintayo, a representative of the Nigerian Bar Association, Comrade Wale Balogun representing Civil Society Organisations, a community representative from Ikire, and Dr. Babatunde Afolabi as Medical/Forensic Representative.
The panel has a clear mandate to establish the circumstances and causes of the incident, examine the roles of security operatives and other actors, identify anyone whose actions or omissions may have contributed to the violence, and recommend prosecution, disciplinary measures, compensation and institutional reforms where necessary.
I assure the people of Ikire, the families of the deceased, the injured and the entire people of Osun State that no person found culpable will be shielded from justice, irrespective of status, office, political connection or institutional affiliation.
We owe the victims and their families the truth. We owe our people justice. And we owe the people of Ikire a peaceful and secure community.
I came to Osun to support my party's candidate, while you supported your uncle's party (Accord). INEC is a body that can't be influenced by me or anyone else.
I have never influenced or rigged before and i don't plan to start now. Face your music while we face our politics.
Alhaja Arike appreciate ex-governor Oyetola for giving her 2 police officers to guide her in all the functions she went to. She also offered prayers to the Minister and the APC Governorship Candidate, Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji, praying for victory for her in August 15th Governorship election.
Alhaja Falilat Ero Arike also used the opportunity to offer prayers to the Honorable Minister for Marine and Blue Economy, who also doubles as the APC Apex Leader in Osun State. She prayed for Allah’s guidance, wisdom, and protection upon him as he continues to serve the people.
Since the conversation surrounding my participation in the 2022 House of Representatives primary election has resurfaced, though I am not yet ready to reveal, in detail, everything that transpired during that process, but I feel it is important to say this unequivocally that it is simply not true that I got 16 votes. The reality is that there was no credible primary election in the first place.
If there had been, I am very confident I would have been the winner. There is verifiable evidence of how the process was rigged, including videos and other materials that support my claim. Therefore, any figures being circulated by Davido, his supporters or anyone else from that purported exercise are misleading and do not reflect a transparent, legitimate or credible primary election.
The full story will be told at the appropriate time.
Something heartbreaking may happen in Surulere I and II State Constituencies.
As we can all see, two women are emerging as frontline aspirants in both constituencies, Dami Marshal in one, Barakat Bakare in the other.
It would be interesting to see how both women secure the tickets, leaving the men with nothing across both constituencies. One may likely be sacrificed for the other.
Oselu omo wereyyy.
Just to be clear, without prejudice to any ongoing debates, if the government wants to arrest you anywhere in Nigeria and they see you, they will arrest you.
I know you know this too. Why? Because I know you aren’t stupid.
Congratulations to Oyo & Ogun States.
In the last 50years, both states have excelled. Oyo had SLA, Ogun had Awolowo, Oyo had Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III, Ogun had Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona. Ogun had wealthy man MKO Abiola, Oyo had Harry Akande. Ogun had Ayinla Omowura, Oyo had Sikiru Ayinde Barrister.
Ogun has Ebora Owu, we have Mukaila Auxiliary as well. God bless Oyo and Ogun States.
It’s surprising to see some countrymen oppose the tax reforms. None of the people around me are against them, and I’m grateful to be surrounded by informed minds. When your circle is still fighting reform, that’s a serious red flag. #TaxReformWahala#firs#NRS
I try to stay away from unnecessary debates but let me offer my own view from a purely technical & economist perspective (for education purposes only) to recent debates that were really unnecessary.
When economists says “an economy is now stable”, they usually mean that the 1/10
Lord Lugard wey don die since suffered many unnecessary curses during Buhari’s 8 years. But it started in 2023. You can deceive everyone, you can’t deceive yourself.
The present and future crop of Nigerian leaders should take lessons from the wave of unrefined emotions of Nigerians in the last 48hours;a new generation of retributive citizens have evolved:unrestrained in their anger, unfiltered in their bitterness and unforgiving in their souls.
