Major Barak is serving as an Engagement Team Commander and Gender Focal Point within the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL). This honour is a recognition of her exemplary service and also of India’s longstanding contribution to United Nations peacekeeping efforts. Her achievement is also an inspiration to countless young Indians, especially our daughters, who aspire to serve the nation and humanity.

#DefenceCooperation 🇮🇳🤝🇺🇸

The 29th Edition of the India–US Army to Army Staff Talks #AAST was held in Hawaii, co-chaired by Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai, Deputy Chief of the Army Staff (Strategy) and Lieutenant General Joel Vowell, Deputy Commanding General, @USARPAC.

The discussions focused on strengthening bilateral defence cooperation, enhancing interoperability, expanding professional exchanges and deepening military collaboration in support of shared security interests. Both sides appreciated the growing scope of Army-to-Army engagements and reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening the India–US strategic partnership.

#GeneralUpendraDwivedi, #COAS, felicitated five distinguished #Veterans during his visit to Lucknow for their exceptional contributions to nation-building, social welfare and community empowerment.

Brigadier Vinod Kumar Baranwal (Retd), drawing upon his extensive military and medical experience, has continued to provide ethical, affordable and patient-centric ophthalmic care to the veterans fraternity.

Colonel MM Ghosh (Retd) has remained focused on the upliftment of the people of his native place. The veteran has distributed free food and medicines, school uniforms and stationery to over 1000 students. Further, he has also regularly organised medical check-ups for the needy, free of cost.

Lieutenant Colonel Krishna Chandra Mishra (Retd) continues to serve the society through veteran welfare and youth empowerment initiatives. He has dedicated himself to social service and veteran welfare in Basti District, Uttar Pradesh.

Subedar Major Raghu Raj Singh remains actively involved in ESM welfare activities related to re-employment, re-settlement and resolution of land issues. The veteran has been instrumental in generating employment for more than 800 ESM in Indian Railways and more than 300 ESM in the dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation.

Sergeant Mahendra Kumar Singh had commenced independent legal practice at Lucknow post his retirement and had devoted himself to the welfare of War Widows, Veer Naris and their dependents by providing legal assistance.

India Triumphs at #YakAttack2026 in Nepal.

In a proud moment for the nation, Nk Khushiman Gharti of the Indian Army emerged as the overall champion of Yak Attack 2026, one of the world’s toughest high-altitude mountain biking races in Nepal.

Competing across six gruelling stages in the Annapurna region, covering over 250 km, climbing 9,000+ m and crossing the formidable Thorong La Pass (5,416 m), the entire Indian team showcased pure domination, exceptional endurance, determination and resilience, by bagging the 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th and 11th positions to bring glory to India.

This victory reflects the spirit of the Indian Army and India’s growing excellence in adventure sports.

At Point 5299, courage echoed louder than enemy shelling. Under the leadership of Major Vikram Singh Shekhawat of 4 JAT and Capt P V Vikram of 141 Field Regiment, operations were launched to secure the strategic height despite intense enemy fire.

In the line of duty, Capt P V Vikram made the supreme sacrifice, while Major Vikram Singh Shekhawat was critically injured. Their courage, sacrifice and devotion to duty remain a timeless testament to the spirit of the Indian Army.

India remembers with pride and gratitude. 🇮🇳
