No messiahs are coming to save us. We must do the job of uprooting and replacing colonial systems ourselves. Democracy is not a system for appointing rulers (however "good" they may present - remember 2002?) but one to enable us rule ourselves. This is the lesson we keep missing.
Lee Kuan Yew established an entire government department dedicated to greening Singapore. Its sole mission was to study which trees, flowers, and plants would thrive in the island’s climate and transform the city into a lush, liveable environment. He even made it compulsory for schoolchildren to learn how to plant and care for trees, embedding environmental stewardship from a young age.
Kenya claims it wants to emulate Singapore, yet moving in the opposite direction. Rural bred retarded bastards are cutting down mature trees, paving over green spaces with cabro blocks, and replacing nature with concrete and buildings. You cannot keep yapping Nairobi is the green city in the sun while systematically erasing the very greenery that makes cities healthier, cooler, and more liveable.
.@KoinangeJeff the saddest image I’ve seen this year - We need to urgently recognize and treat this as a crisis for elephants and humans. 16 confirmed dead and rising. #HandsOffOurElephants
Thousands of words, one confession:
The American dream collapsed, and I want to go home.
A generation of China’s brightest students left believing they were joining history’s winning side.
They became professors, engineers and corporate middle managers in America—respectable, comfortable, and permanently outside the room where real power was exercised.
Meanwhile, the classmates they once dismissed as the B-team built China’s industries, laboratories, infrastructure and technological rise.
The deepest wound is not that America declined.
It is that China succeeded without them.
They spent decades convincing themselves that leaving was advancement.
Now FBI suspicion, racial ceilings, political insanity and a collapsing national myth have made that lie harder to maintain.
So beneath all the analysis of Trump, Taiwan, McCarthyism and overseas Chinese identity is one private confession:
I thought I had escaped China’s past.
I did not realize I was abandoning its future.
The American dream did not merely break.
China outgrew it.
Yesterday, Interpol posted on its official page claiming that Africa has the highest level of AI-related fraud, yet available data points to the U.S. and parts of Asia as major sources of such activity.
Now there’s another claim about a “malaria mosquito” spreading across Africa, and Africans living on the continent haven’t even heard of it, while it’s being widely discussed in the West.
It feels like, as more African countries have reconsider natural resource agreements with Western nations, and are canceling those agreements with the west and more people begin to see Africa beyond the stereotypes portrayed in their movies, the negative narratives and sensational stories about the continent has started surfacing 😂😂😂
The simplest possible fact is this: China has broken a number of theoretical economic taboos, shown that they are wrong, and economics will have--whether it likes it or not-- to adjust to that & revise what it currently holds and teaches.
You cannot treat the most successful economic growth in the history of the world as an exception to the generally valid rules of economics.
There is a guy promising Nairobians an underground train system aka subway but he can’t fix the potholes on Kenyatta Avenue. This is the shamelessness you need to approach life with in this Country

Bishop Alfred Rotich urges the government to stop the destruction of Londiani Forest Block and Samburet Estate, warning that continued degradation threatens the environment, water sources, and local livelihoods.

@wmnjoya@Spearhead_Af@Big_Mck@joyfwen@DavidHundeyin These terrifying dinosaurs, these, utterly useless ancient parasites need to be swept away. Do they go home and tell their children, "Today I was a marvellous, most marvellous court jester?"
1/ African countries have gone to the IMF time & again. If the medicine worked, why does the patient keep going back?
I discussed my new book with @vijayprashad, "How the International Monetary Fund Strangles Africa", on @HOT877Zambia this mng. Audio: https://t.co/mCImrMnCAi
US imposed visa bonds (of up to $20,000) on the citizens of 30 of the 52 nations on the African continent.
Most Americans who know about this, absolutely love it, those who don't - do not care either way.
Any African who can marshal $5,000 - $20,000 - can put the money to better use, by doing business with China.
This is just one of the many ways the Trump Administration has told Africans, "we don't f**k with you".
It is now easier for the average African business person to get a visa to China, than to get a visa to do anything in the US.
I am sorry, you cannot eat your cake and have it - and this trend predates Trump - Americans are increasingly hostile for foreigners - especially Black Africans, Arabs and Muslims - and their Government merely reflects this.
@CaptKigen Cabro? When the entirety of the world has returned to what we had? We were ahead without even knowing it as a city. Green, landscaped, trees, flowers, the things of life that everybody craves now. But now, cabro and concrete? Really?
@NewsM101 Since the western populations are in decline anyway, negative growth, nothing to fear, the earth is discarding those who've brought it the most anguish. Earth's got this.
Let me guess. The scientists aren’t Asian, arab or African. They’re from the group that has started the most wars and done the most damage to the earth.
Kenyan politics is taking shape towards 2027 and from the look of things, hamjipangi, mnapangwa kweli kweli.
The establishment is very afraid of three people. Maraga, Sifuna and Okiya and when plans are being made, they are trying as much as possible to manage the situation so that power does not leave the table of the Old Guards. They are reassembling and not for the best but to ensure what happens is not a system change but system maintenance.
They are pushing really hard to manage the outcome. It is not just a Kasongo issue. The entire system is working round the clock to keep things as they always are. Recycling the same faces that are part of the problem and have always been.
If we are serious about change, we have to be very intentional about that change or else we will have a very rough time.
