Living in QAU hostels is like being a diplomat, politician, tribesman, refugee, fighter, family man, policeman, robber, comrade, pro Pakistani, anti Pakistani all at once 🌚. Then comes being a student 🥱, even there you got teachers to deal with 😁

The new Indian COAS's unit, 2nd Lancers (Gardner's Horse), was the one that quelled the rebellion of Rai Ahmad Kharral, Murad Fatiana, and other local Punjabi cheftains at Gogera, near Okara in 1857. It was also the unit that executed the revolting Punjabi Muslim soldiers at Multan, based on intelligence provided by Shah Mehmood Qureshi, the former Pakistani Foreign Minister's namesake great-grandfather. The more you know!
One man.
Five institutions.
All of them transformed beyond recognition.
Air Marshal Malik Nur Khan. The Man of Steel. Born in a village in Chakwal, Punjab. Educated at Aitchison College. Flew dive-bombing missions against Japanese forces in Burma in World War II at age 18.
Then Pakistan was born. And Nur Khan went to work.
1959. PIA was a modest struggling carrier. Nur Khan became Managing Director. He introduced Pakistan's first pure jet aircraft. Opened routes to America and China. Built PIA into one of the most respected airlines in the world. A golden era that airlines across Asia came to study.
1965. He was appointed Commander-in-Chief of the PAF just weeks before the Indo-Pakistani War began.
Outnumbered. Under-resourced. Against a larger air force.
He introduced night operations. Precision strikes. Rapid reorganisation. The PAF performed so effectively it shocked the world.
He was awarded the Hilal-e-Jurat.
1973. Bhutto recalled him to PIA. He returned. Introduced the Boeing 747. Launched the iconic green and gold livery. Built PIA hotels. Kept politicians out of the airline's operations.
1976. He became President of the Pakistan Hockey Federation.
He conceived and introduced the Hockey World Cup and the Champions Trophy to the world. Under his watch Pakistan won Olympic gold, multiple World Cups and Champions Trophies. A dynasty of hockey that the entire world studied.
1980. He took over Pakistan Cricket Board. He appointed Imran Khan as captain in 1982. He co-led the successful bid to bring the 1987 Cricket World Cup to Pakistan and India. The first time it left England.
He supported Jahangir Khan. He built the PIA Colts Scheme that found and trained a generation of Pakistani sporting champions.
As Governor of West Pakistan he pushed for Urdu as a medium of instruction. He supported the dissolution of the One Unit scheme that had erased Pakistan's provincial identities.
War hero. Airline builder. Sports revolutionary. Governor. Institution maker.
One man. One Pakistan. Transformed five times over.
He died on December 15, 2011 in Rawalpindi. At 88.
Pakistan has never properly celebrated him.
Air Marshal Malik Nur Khan. 🇵🇰
It’s crazy how, at the opposite ends of both sides of Panjab, there are federally controlled planned cities in a grid layout (Islamabad and Chandigarh) with religiously linked names, built in the 1960s over land taken from Panjabi locals.
@soulat_pasha Pasha sb Imran khan ko chor den aur halyia halaat pe baat kren, logon ka jeena PML N ne do bhar kr dya hai. Ye zyada zaalim hen is ki bewaqofion se
Pakistan is a country with the least forest cover in the world, with just 2.2% forest as per the UN.
If we keep cutting trees, what are we going to leave behind for our future generations? A desert!

@SuhaibAyaz2@KisanaNauman@guzellikguzel_ And here we are all arguing about the efficacy and need of national/local language in English. Ironically ironic ho rha kaam idhr 😭
In any normal country a prime minister is judged upon following things:
Strength of rule of law
Economy
Trade & investments
Popularity
In Pakistan Shehbaz sharif is being judged on:
his etiquettes
dressing
Obedience
Foreign trips
Staccato speeches
No wonder growth is 2%
can't wait for maryam nawaz' downfall. narcissistic, ego maniac ruling over the province. Mad for PR points by focusing on easy, superficial stuff while destroying the actual things that matter like education, and health.
