The two-day Chintan Shivir 2026, organised by the Sports & Youth Services (DSYS) was inaugurated today by Hon’ble Governor, Dr. @DrHariBabuK in the presence of Hon'ble Minister, Sports & Youth Services, Sri @suryabanshibjp, Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Sri Bhupendra Singh Poonia, IAS, Paralympian & Padma Shri, Smt. @DeepaAthlete, President, @TheHockeyIndia & Padma Shri, Sri @DilipTirkey, Vice President, @WorldAthletics, @Adille1 and General Secretary, Swimming Federation of India, Sri Monal Chokshi.

The event brought together leading sportspersons, administrators, coaches, and experts to deliberate on strategies for strengthening Odisha’s sporting ecosystem and accelerating the state’s journey towards sporting excellence.

The opening session of Chintan Shivir 2026, Odisha Medal Strategy, was moderated by Director Sports, @vijayyeddula, IAS.

Panellists Vice President, @WorldAthletics, @Adille1, Padma Shri, Sri @PGopichand73, Co Founder & Chief Strategy Officer Playtroit, Dr. Sanjana Kiran and General Secretary, @swimmingfedera1, Sri Monal Chokshi shared valuable insights on early talent identification, athlete injury management, coach development, parental guidance, sports awareness, open schooling for athletes, and strengthening sports infrastructure.

The discussion highlighted the importance of a strong grassroots ecosystem and a collaborative approach to nurture talent and help Odisha produce future champions on the national and international stage.
