K9 is a good example. 100 are in service, any potential SPH just doesn't make sense in terms of logistics, training, timelines. L&T can deliver those yesterday, why would anyone approve a 5 year long metallurgical study for new SPH barrel if you can't upgrade the K9s
The first 'Made in India' Airbus C295 military transport aircraft has conducted its first test flight from the Final Assembly Line in Vadodara 🇮🇳, marking a milestone for Indian aviation and defence. This maiden test flight is a crucial step in the aircraft's post production testing process. As the first of 40 aircraft to be built in India, the test flight advances the programme's objective of delivering the first 'Made in India' C295 aircraft this year to the Indian Air Force.
A game changer in the Government of India's 'Make in India' vision, the C295 India programme is the first instance of a military aircraft being manufactured in India by the private sector. The programme's progress reflects the steady and dedicated work of Airbus, Tata Advanced Systems Limited and the several Indian MSMEs, which are manufacturing parts for the aircraft across India.
We thank the Indian Air Force, Ministry of Defence and Government of India, for their unwavering trust in us.
We are building the future of Indian aerospace.

Introducing the Avenger AVG-30HD. 🇮🇳
After years of imports, we’ve finally done it — indigenous stabilized EO/IR gimbals are now replacing foreign systems on Indian naval vessels.
This next-gen system delivers:
🔹 State-of-the-art FOG gyro-mechanical stabilization for rock-steady imaging
🔹 HD thermal imaging — see wider with the same target recognition capability
🔹 Lightweight at under 10kg
🔹 Integrated staring-array panoramic imager for real-time 360° situational awareness
🔹 AI-powered — not just situational awareness, but a complete EO/IRST package
And the best part? Truly Make in India. Not assembled — designed, developed, and manufactured here.

@cloud_surfer72 No amount of chocks can help unless they lowered the screw jack on all 4 legs; If they did that it would topple on the side
AAI is the only company in india that has legit tie down devices / anchors for its aerobridges on the apron - I have yet to see a private one to have it
@PrathamPrabhu7@Pivot2Centre What I intended to convey is, you can still get the same chassis without the factory built cab or body. It’s purely upto the owner. Strict regulations like the AIS 153 regulations for third-party-bus body builders should be mandated for new trucks.
@Anon182696@TVMohandasPai Rajeev Chandrashekar was a resident of Bangalore for many years and was a part of BJP Karnataka, his move to BJP Kerala was much later.
When has China ever complied with Western Sanctions? There would be no issue if it wasn’t certified by the West, but in our case the Russian Companies are sanctioned, hence the Airlines themselves are at risk. Another thing to consider that is a lot the Airlines in China are State Owned.
If you’ve seen this video on the @sssdefence Viper MK2, there’s mention of a new feature in there- an Arca Rail. It’s a mounting system that owes its origin to the camera world. The Precision Rifle Series (PRS) shooting circuit took a loving to it & it’s now very common to see top long distance shooters adapt their rifles for the Arca. In India, since RFP parameters cause builds, the 1913 pic rail still rules. But we decided to future proof our weapons & build for the best in class. The Arca takes convenience to a new level - adding & removing accessories is a frictionless process. Slide in the attachment to its place, tighten a screw & clamp it in. Remove as easily in reverse. Bipod or tripod, it fits easily.
Classic example of why it makes sense to be in control of your system. No waiting for a foreign OEM to adapt. In the precision world success or failure is determined by millimetres. The artist still pulls the trigger but the system counts. Here is where small things add incredible value
The worst part is that everyone is concerned about the couple but not the 50 years old helicopter that Capt Bhardwaj will fly.
Pathetic state of affairs
@mountain_rats I personally don’t think that this is going to happen anytime soon in the present global scenario for the reasons mentioned in the thread attached below.
Secondly no Operator that is dependent on Western Aircraft, Lessors or Insurers are going to touch a Russian platform unless the Sanctions on Russia are withdrawn or exemptions granted. No matter how much rebranding HAL does, in the eyes of the West, it is still a Russian platform.
