International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination was proclaimed by the UN General Assembly to remember the 21st of March 1960, when police opened fire and killed 69 people at a peaceful demonstration in Sharpeville, South Africa.
We are grateful to have been involved in a three day training session last week, hosted by the International Organisation for Migration, looking at tools to assist with documenting the experiences and realities of respective communities.
Happy Valentines Day!
While today is traditionally used for expressions of love towards others, don’t forget that you too are deserving of your own love.
A gentle reminder that we are running a #spreadlove campaign this Valentines month💕
FGM refers to procedures that involve altering or injuring the female genitalia for non-medical reasons, recognised internationally as a human rights infringement.
This day is observed in an effort to highlight and direct efforts on the elimination of this practice.
#InternationalDayofHumanFraternity highlights the importance of cultural and religious tolerance, understanding and dialogue.
“Today, let us commit to stand firm against bigotry wherever and whenever we see it” – United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres.
To celebrate the month of love, we are running a #SPREADLOVE campaign to raise funds to feed families in need. Please join us in spreading love to those most in need of it. The smallest act of caring has the potential to turn a life around❤️
